    My Final Roster

    THE FINAL 53

    THE 'GIVENS' (35)

    QB---Allen...Barkley
    RB---McCoy...Gore...Singletary
    FB---
    TE---
    WR---Brown...Beasley...Foster...Roberts
    C---Morse
    G---Spain...Feliciano...Long
    OT---Dawkins...Ford...Nsehke
    DT---Star...Oliver...Phillips...Phillips
    DE---Hughes...Murphy
    OLB---LorAx...Milano...Lacey
    MLB---Edmunds
    CB---White...Wallace...K.Johnson
    NKL---T.Johnson...Neal
    S---Poyer...Hyde
    PK---Hauschka
    LS---Ferguson
    P---

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ON THE BUBBLE (+17 for 52)

    RB---Yeldon...Murphy...Perry
    FB---DiMarco
    TE---Smith...Kroft...Knox...Sweeney...Croom
    WR---Jones...McKenzie...Bolden...McCloud...Duke
    G---Teller
    OT---Wesley...Jones
    DE---Lawson...Love...D.Johnson
    OLB---Joseph
    MLB---Stanford...Thompson
    CB---Munnerlyn...Pitts...C.Lewis...R.Lewis
    S---J.Johnson...Marlowe
    P---Bojorquez...Carter
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    CUT / PRACTICE SQUAD

    QB---Tyree
    RB---Wade
    TE---Becker...Towbridge...Carter
    WR---Easley...Sills...Phillips
    C---Bodine
    G---Boettger
    OT---McDermott...Bates...McGhin...Rhaney
    DT---Peko...Walter...Young
    DE---Yarbrough...Acho
    OLB---Dodson...M.Alexander
    CB---Rice
    S---Wallace...Coleman
    PK---McLaughlin
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Some observations---

--That's 35 "gimme's" and 17 "bubbles". One spot for an olineman, WR, etc...not discounting bringing somebody in after cuts.

--I've got Yeldon, Zay Jones and Lawson on the bubble because one or both could be moved. Lots of competition at all three positions, and they may be expendable to pick up some draft choices plus make room for a younger guy (like Murphy, Duke or D.Johnson especially) on the regular roster

---Teller's spot depends on what the final five looks like. If Ford starts out at G Teller may be out on the street to start the year...If OT with Nsekhe at swing Wyatt could replace Wesley (or take #53).

--I've got FB, TE and P completely void of "gimme's". Don't think DiMarco is guaranteed, although he'll probably land one of the final spots, especially for teams. TE depends on who is healthy. I think they'll get to 53 by keeping four and then adjust depending on Kroft's foot. P is anybody's guess.

--Wade for the #11 spot freebie, and a couple of spots left open on the PS (in red) for other team's cuts.

    QB - Allen, Barkley 2
RB - McCoy, Gore, Perry, Singletary 4
    FB - DiMarco 1
WR - Beasley, Brown, Foster, Jones, McKenzie, Roberts 6
TE - Knox, Kroft, Smith, Sweeney 4
OG - Feliciano, Long, Teller 3
OT - Dawkins, Ford, Nsehke, Wesley 4
    C - Long, Morse 2

DE - Hughes, Lawson, Love, Murphy 4

OLB - Alexander, Lacey, Milano, Thompson 4
    MLB - Edmunds, Stanford 2

It all depends on Kroft and Morse if they're ready to go week 1 or if they end up on PUP/IR.

If Kroft is IR/PUP'd I can see the Bills keeping 3 TEs and keeping another defensive back on the roster. If Morse is IR/PUP'd, then obviously you're gonna see Bodine make the team.

I feel that the above is with a few players of being completely spot on.

Possibly. He's the one guy that I think maybe I should have bubbled him, when I look at the list. However, I don't see anybody else in the WR room that can fill the roles of A)primary back-up on the outside if Brown/Jones start or B)step into the starting line-up opposite Brown if Zay gets moved.

My money is on Bates over Wesley or Teller after he got all those reps at center Friday night. McDermott is all about moveable parts.

    Good list.

I think somehow Darryl Johnson and Vosean Joseph make the team: PUP Kroft for a while longer and go with one fewer DB.

And, if they need another backup center then it will be Ryan Bates instead of Bodine.

Well, balls. Signing OL Erik Magnuson means I'll have to start all over again from scratch.

It's not even McDermott, it's the actual OL coach they have. Indy last season where he was an assistant, was all about moveable parts, and being flexible regarding man or zone blocking play to play according to gameplan. D'Alessandris, who started off Johnson's career, got superb production even out of Demetress Bell. I don't think Bates is going anywhere. Haven't really seen much out of Long. People keep mentioning him at center but they don't play him there. If Bates and Feliciano are both G/C, and Long is purely backup guard.....he might well be on the bubble.

That's why I think they shouldn't hold back on playing Morse. If he's going down again in a few series, he's not going to last a regular season half. If he can't last a regular season half you might get your best use out of Feliciano, Long and Bates.
I lost a bet with Pink and all I got was this dumb avatar that I've had awhile anyway.

    Re: My Final Roster

I actually like specialists at WR like McKenzie (jet sweep.quick outs) and Duke Williams (red zone) more than Zay Jones or Foster.

Beasley and Brown will get the vast majority of looks anyhow.

    He's a stone cold lock.

    Here's my 53:

    QB - Allen, Barkley 2
RB - McCoy, Gore, Singletary, Yeldon 4
    FB - DiMarco 1
WR - Beasley, Brown, Foster, Jones, McKenzie, Roberts, Williams 7
TE - Sweeney, Knox, Smith 3 (Kroft on PUP)
OG - Spain, Feliciano, Long, Teller 4
OT - Dawkins, Ford, Nsehke 3
    C - Morse, Bates 2

DE - Hughes, Murphy, Lawson, Johnson 4
DT - Lotulelei, Oliver, Phillips, Phillips 4
OLB - Alexander, Milano, Lacey, Thompson 4
    MLB - Edmunds, Stanford 2
CB - White, Wallace, Johnson, Johnson, Neal, (Cam) Lewis/Denzel Rice 6
    S - Poyer, Hyde, Coleman, Marlowe 4

    K - Hauschka
    P - TBA
    LS - Ferguson

Those are the same numbers for offense (26) and defense (24) as opening day last year. The differences are they kept 4 TE's and 6 WR's (I think they'll PUP Kroft and keep an extra WR) and had 4 T's and 3 OG's (Bates can play T and Wesley can be put on PS). I had a hard time deciding on depth OLB's with Maurice Alexander being a ST's stud and he could be kept with them keeping just 6 WR's instead. Also Joseph has flashed but probably needs to be on the PS. And at CB I couldn't decide between Cam Lewis and Denzel Rice, and Munnerlyn can probably be cut and be called from his couch if they need him later. And I think they do what they did last year and add a punter just prior to the start of the season.

Oh and I'd also have Hauschka on notice and possibly look to add whichever kicker the Panthers release.

Have you not followed the preseason at all? Our 7th Round pick DE Darryk Johnson has notched a sack in each game and making plays in the backfield. I can't see how he doesnt make the final 53. Also it looks like you named Long twice at OG and OC, so that could be where you fit Johnson or we can cut Wesley.

I have not seen much from Yarborough and Love seems to be more noticeable for penalties than plays. My money is on Johnson as well.

DE Johnson and C Bates look like they will make this team unless they completely mess up tomorrow night.

Bates is needed given Morse's concussion issues.

    Johnson has looked very good.
