I know this is dated, but leave it to Rick Mercer to bring the funny to this serious election campaign...

Everybody bends the truth , but the blatant lirs ftom the lieberals is a all new high. Scheer is gutting programs , reopen the abortion debate and put gays back in the closet. And then throwing the west under the bus. That sure does sound like desperation. So sad this one.

    History of Canadian politics... REGIONALISM

Liberal Party of Canada just plays it better, that's why they're consistently WINNERS

Eastern Canada, Island of Montreal, Ottawa/Hull, City of Toronto, Vancouver... Liberals consistently successful mine those areas for seats , that my friend is why they will win this election ...

That is to bad because they do not deserve it. It shows canadians can easily be bought off or fooled no matter what they do. Look at the NDP guy from brampton. Sex shaming a native women that was a prostitute. Said she was to ugly for that. The left wing canidates in this election have been brutal. But I still have faith that canadians have had enough.

The Liberals remain in a close national race in public support with the Conservatives but are favoured to win the most seats, though probably not another majority government. The New Democrats and Bloc Québécois, after making significant gains in the polls, appear to be hitting a ceiling — but could hold the balance of power in a minority parliament.

Probability of the Liberals winning the most seats but not a majority

Re: The Canadian Federal Election Has Begun -- The Vote is October 21st

I think Liberals are going to finish a lot stronger, a minority govt, but not that far off from a majority

NDP support is "soft", prolly overstated by 5% , I say that as life time NDP voter who is constantly disappointed (exception 2011) in pre-vote polls vs actual votes cast ....that "soft" NDP support typically migrates to the Liberals

PPC is currently polling at 2%...wouldn't surprise me if the actual support is 5-6%...which will come from traditional Conservative voters

The above two statements will particularly help the Liberals in Ontario.

It'll come down to how many seats the Liberals lose in Quebec ...if the Lose more than 12, they're in for a tough night

Oh they definitely will be losing more than 12 seats in Quebec.

The Bloc is coming on strong.

I'm speaking of a NET loss. ..they may lose 15 seats to the Bloc, but pick up 3 NDP seats

I still think they will lose a net loss of more than a dozen seats in Quebec.

This all gets down to the Ontario 416 and 905 areas.

The Liberals need to not lose many in those areas or they are done.

I think it will be a minority Liberal win hopefully not requiring more then the NDP and Green to govern.

If the Liberals need the Bloc, I am not liking the chances of that minority government surviving the end of 2020.

Apparently, none of the parties are flush with cash so no one wants another election soon.

In Ottawa they are saying some polls have not even been set up yet. A lot of other complaints. Now the funny one, is we had a lib in here crying he vote libertarian, because it was 1st one on the ballot and he did not look close enough. Voted and some one mentioned it ,boy was he mad.

Gotcha....I thought you were referring to:

    a) the never ending Mohawk bridge occupation at Chatuaygay (sp?) Quebec

    b) pontoon bridges the 1st Nations set up between Ont & NYS at St Lawerence for smuggling

They are released per time zone.

So 7:00 PM for the Newfoundland results.

7:00 PM for the rest of the Maritimes.

9:30 PM for Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.

    10:00 PM for British Columbia.

Those are all ET since the polls out west close earlier.....

Here are the voting hours for each time zone. All times are local.

    • Newfoundland — 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
    • Atlantic — 8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
    • Eastern — 9:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
    • Manitoba — 8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
    • Alberta, Saskatchewan and Northwest Territories — 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
    • Pacific — 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

This means polls in Newfoundland and Labrador will close at 7 p.m. ET — and all polls will be closed by 10 p.m. ET.
(There are no longer results blackout rules in Canada, so first results for areas where polls are closed will be available starting shortly after 7 p.m. ET.)
