We should run the ball more.

Good run blockers, good backs. They should run the ball a lot more. Gore had 11 carries. Singletary had 7. Not nearly enough.

More run and more play action pass could help this offense and Josh.

I agree. I think the formula to beat the Eagles will be that. Dallas ran all over them last night.

They also need to be more selective when they run Allen. It's great when it's 3rd and 1, the game is close, and you absolutely need a first down to keep the chains moving AND you know the defense can't stop it. Otherwise, not so much.

Well, Dallas does have the best OL in all of football. That Tyrone Smith guy is a beast.

But I agree, if the only way we can win is by winning ugly, might as well do it physically and run the damn ball.

Singletary had a couple nice runs in the first half, then I didn't see much of him.

Was that a decision, or an injury issue?

Daboll can't commit to anything. Too much temptation to get cute with the play calling.

Bills should run, throw short FAR more until Allen settles.

Re: We should run the ball more.

They want to keep Gore in the 10-12 range that's clear.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

My guess is that they are/were bringing him back calm and slowly.

Re: We should run the ball more.

It's clear that Josh isn't ready to put this offense on his back (except in the 4th quarter when we need it), but this is what we should be doing:

"the 49ers ran the ball 41 times despite averaging just 2.4 yards per carry. This week, they ran it 39 times even though they could only muster 3.5 yards per carry. And it can’t be easy for a playcaller as good as Kyle Shanahan to subjugate his ego and call a game that way. He admitted as much to me last week, saying it’s the reality of who his team is—it just makes sense to ride the defense now, and shortening the game works to support that group. Good example of a head coach being a head coach, and not just focusing on one area or another."

I'd love to see more smash mouth more than anybody.

Hence my (DESTROY YOUR OPPONENT) mantra.

We lost a few carries to the extremely efficient clock burning in the 3rd quarter by Miami .......... we had one possession.

    RUN AND STOP THE RUN!!
