Now 3/3 with a game tying kick at the end of regulation. This dude was cut by the bills in August, by the way.

We had McLaughlin and after watching him in camp they extended Haushka and cut McLaughlin. Then he got signed & cut by Minnesota & the LA Chargers. Now he chokes with the game on the line and all the ones calling him better than Haushka know why 3 teams have let him go and they stopped posting their nonsense about McLaughlin.
He was 3/4 pretty good for off the street. Point is we need a contingency plan for houshka.

It's not nonsense, just how it is with kickers if you attempt to upgrade. If you pay attention, it happens often, and the best ones aren't going anywhere from the teams that locked them in. They all miss, you just want one that misses less, so stop posting your own nonsense.
We need to draft a kicker this offseason. By this time of year it's pretty slim pickings on kickers. When the missed kick of the 4 is to hit the game winner & the kicker line drives a shot far left, he's not a viable option. His kick reminded me of the worst kick I ever saw. It was by Shane Graham his rookie year with the Bills before he did a lot of work on his kicking and became a moderately successful kicker. McLaughlin's kick was ugly-something he's probably done in practices enough for 3 teams including the Bills to let him go.
Haushka will make his next 15.

Big difference in the kicks. Haushka was kicking from 53 yards & at least he got the ball in the air. Hey, there's nothing wrong with exploring other options but using McLaughlin, a guy who the coaches of 3 teams, (Bills included) have seen in practice & deemed him not good enough as the example is stretching things. As I said, it's slim pickings on kickers at this time of the season. The best option at this point, unless he starts missing chip shots more than he hits them, is stick with Haushka & look for a possible replacement in the offseason. Any available kicker from the current trash heap has earned his place on the trash heap.
How do you hold the kicker accountable? it's not like you can bench him for the other kicker. There is no other kicker on the roster.
And as bad as he's been, who's out there that's better? We'd have to sign someone off the street or off a practice squad, if anyone even has a K on their practice squad.
I don't even care that he missed the 53 yarder at the end. It's a low % kick to begin with. Shanking a 30-something yarder, however, is inexcusable. Those should never be missed, and it ultimately turned out to be the difference in the game.
I don't think he's ever recovered from the cheap shot he took from the jets last year.

You know who was awesome this week? The Seattle kicker. But wait... You mean he has a lower % over 40 yards than Hauschka? They should cut him and find a better kicker. Oh. Did anyone mention that Hauschka is the ONLY starting kicker to have zero attempts from inside 30 to pad his stats? I guess if you break the NFL record and hit 13 straight 50+ yd FG, the law of averages catches up to you, eventually. Glad his coach isn't giving up on him, either.
I'm thinking he may have re-injured himself from the blindside hit he took last season, or he still has the memory of what happened to him last season still in his mind
https://buffalonews.com/2018/12/10/b...-sit-hit-jets/Buffalo Bills kicker Stephen Hauschka is listed as day to day with a hip injury after getting blindsided with a dirty hit by New York Jets defensive lineman Henry Anderson after a blocked field goal.As both teams headed to the locker room, Hauschka remained on the field as trainers examined him. He was able to return at the start of the second half, although he said the injury to his lower back and pelvis injury made it difficult to kick.

We need a time machine that can make Steve Christie 29 years old again.
