This should make every Sabres fan mad.

Why can't this be done in Buffalo?
MAF to Minnesota for a conditional 2nd
Then Minnesota sends Kahkonen & a 5th to San Jose for Jacob Middleton.
LOTS o' trades, per TSN in Canada...
*Max Domi goes from Columbus to Carolina.
*Rickard Rakell from Anaheim to Pittsburgh for a prospect & a pick.
*Dallas gets Vlad Namestikov from Detroit for a '24 4th rounder.
"We've got a lot to cover. The good news is...I've got the time and I ain't going anywhere." -CM Punk, AEW Rampage, 8/20/21
"I see things in black and white and I have a zero tolerance policy for ****ty people." -Jon Moxley, AEW Dynamite, 1/6/21
Flo will be VERY happy with this: The Rangers made a LOT of moves, too. Consider.: They picked up...
*Justin Braun from Philly
*Andrew Copp from Winnipeg
*Tyler Motte from Vancouver
All garbage stuff outside of Fleury going to Minnesota. Ho-hum.
Ok. Maybe the Panthers getting Giroux on Saturday. But as far as today goes, after Fleury it is all ho-hum. 3rd and 4th liners and 3rd pairing D. Ho-hum. No real game changers.

You know what would make this mean more? Freeze NHL rosters for a set period of time BEFORE the trade deadline.
Re #1227: I'm of two minds on that post. I'd agree that it was just....meh; you can blame that on the salary cap, which tends to cool off the fever dreams of armchair GMs. That said, you never know if one of the players that were traded for just manage to catch fire during the playoffs and help spark a team to the Stanley Cup. Butch Goring is the most notable example; when he was traded to the Islanders, he was said to be "the final piece of the puzzle" for them to win 4 straight Stanley Cups.
I think no-trade clauses should be illegal.
NHL cancels Evgenii Dadonov trade with Anaheim Ducks, sends RW back to Vegas Golden Knights
Jack Hughes with a partially sprained MCL last Saturday has been shut down for the rest of the year.
Reading around the NHL. Risto has bombed in Philly.
Chuck Fletcher wasn't lacking ambition entering the season. Perhaps against better judgement, the Flyers were one of the most aggressive teams in the summer, trading for Rasmus Ristolainen and Ryan Ellis in a desperate effort to round out a defensive corps. The better of the two defenders — Ryan Ellis — has been limited to four games all season with injury, while Ristolainen has been a disaster, but managed to secure a long-term extension, anyway.
Thanks for the draft picks.
We don't even have pictures
Just memories to hold
That grow sweeter each season
As we slowly grow old...
The NHL Global Series will be back for the 2022-23 season. San Jose & Nashville will be playing in Prague, Czech Republic on October 7th and 8th.
If anybody cares, look at the first two stars in this game: https://www.espn.com/nhl/game/_/gameId/401350440
The Islanders fired head coach Barry Trotz today....the punishment for not making the playoffs after a few seasons of going deep into the postseason.
Reilly Smith anyone?
While Smith is a nice player, the Sabres need a veteran who can win face-offs. Smith is not that player.Smith, an 11-year veteran, just finished a five-year, $25 million deal and could demand another deal that pays around $5 million annually. And there are teams — Buffalo, Detroit, New Jersey or Ottawa, to name a few — who would be willing to pay.

My God. Toronto has lost 10 games in a row when they had a chance to clinch in the postseason.
Lets go Rangers! Just need 2 more wins to turn that 2nd into a 1st!!
Great now we have the pick. Go Bolts let's make it as low as possible
Eastern Conference Finals.
Rangers are doing pretty good so far versus Tampa.
The Rangers kids are growing up on playoff hockey ice.![]()
