Vegas signs Hanifan to a long term deal. It was rumored that the Bruins *really* wanted him and was going to be one of their major targets this offseason

Huge bummer, that guy was a horse for Columbus and Nashville for a few years. I liked him as a possible depth C option for the Sabres

An interesting read about the Red Wings offseason. Depending on extensions, they're going to be in cap trouble. Since they are a team I expect Buffalo to compete with, it's worth a read in the lean off season months

The Jets talked Rick Bowness into retirement so they wouldn't have to fire him.

Jets coach Rick Bowness retires after 38 years in NHL

The Jets were the only team of the top 9 this season not to make it to round 2 of the play-offs. Watching Monahan, Toffoli, Ehlers, etc...

He missed multiple games with his wife's health issues and some with his own. not sure how true the first sentence is.

Now to try and find a coach that will come to Winnipeg. The fact they are where they are without being able to attract free agents/coaches is impressive. Playing with an arm tied behind your back is tough.

In the end it will probably be Scott Arniel because he is already in Winnipeg.
