Hey if the Rangers can squeak into the play-offs they probably face the Bruins in the first round.

It would be unbelievable if the Rangers made the playoffs, They have no business being in that conversation, Yet here they are.

My expectations (and I would think the majority) for the Rangers this season was to be a .500 team.

They're playing with house money now, Future looks bright on Broadway.

And I'll take Boston over Philly, I think the Cup winner comes out of the Metro this year.

Since the season is now in suspended mode, the good folks at The Hockey News have decided to simulate the rest of the season(much like what the NBA's Phoenix Suns are doing via the online platform Twitch). Two of the staffers are using EA Sports NHL 20 to simulate the games.

Elliotte Friedman of HNIC: ECHL is expected to announce soon that the rest of the 2019-20 regular season and the Kelly Cup playoffs will be canceled. (He originally said the announcement would come on Monday.)

Check that: Per the Cincinnati Cyclones' Twitter feed, the ECHL HAS cancelled the rest of the regular season and the playoffs.

Bob McKenzie of TSN notes that playing games in July and August will be a problem due to contracts expiring on June 30th and it'll create legal issues. Let's not forget about work visas, too.

It's early, but I would be shocked if this year's season is not simply cancelled altogether in May.

This is going to be a slow turnaround.

Jets sign 2017 second round pick Dylan Samberg. 6'4" 215 LHD. Played for team US at the WJHC in 18 and 19. Winnipeg is desperate for help on the blue line and when he went back to school for an attempt at a 3rd straight National title, I was worried he would ride it out and be a free agent. Glad to have him in the fold for whenever the next season starts.

Seems like a lot of teams are desperate for help along the blue line. Do they even put out defensive defenseman anymore? If so, who was the last blue chipper to enter the league. There was a time not long ago when they were coveted and every team tried to have a good one, if not two. Seems like now all they can do is tout the scoring capabilities of defensemen as they come into the league.

Jets were extremely bad on the left side. We iced 2 sabre cast offs in Kulikov and Beaulieau. I think Samberg saw the opportunity to get to the show quickly.

It actually disappoints me that the Norris is now just the highest scoring D award. Usually. I would like that to be named the Bobby Orr award and Norris can be best all around D.

There are a few just D out there. Vlasic comes to mind. DeMelo that the Jets got from Ottawa is definitely one. I would consider Muzzin in that category too. You are right though, they are a dying breed. The last D the Jets grabbed in the first round was 6' on a good day and 180. Far cry from the Chris Prongers and Darian Hatchers of the world.
