    Taylor Hall a Healthy Scratch

We all know what that means.

Buffalo could be a team pushing for him.

Taylor has no say in where he gets dealt.

Montreal, Vancouver and Arizona also pushing hard for Hall.

Media thinks Colorado is the front runner.

Re: Taylor Hall a Healthy Scratch

Bob McKenzie has confirmed that Hall was scratched for precautionary reasons due to an impending trade.

He says 6 teams have shown serious interest but did not mention who.

Obviously one team made such an offer it got N.J to sit Hall.

He says MANY piece would be needed.

This is good news for the Rangers having Hall off the block early.

Re: Taylor Hall a Healthy Scratch

The Devils put Joe Morrow on unconditional waivers.

Halls agent is in Sweden, Teams could be working out a Hall contract extension.

That would give the Devils a much better return.

Sabres won’t be in this mix... would be a GMTM move... not a Botts move...

i believe they think they have their core and need to add around it cost effectively.

Yeah Sabres are out of it.

They would have to part with their top defensive prospect and maybe two 1st.

And another 10 plus million contract for a winger would really make no sense.

Arizona has the money, Goalie prospects, Defensive and Forward prospects New Jersey needs and wants.

Plus the draft picks, Question is, Does Hall want Arizona?

If he does the Devils could score a nice return.

The Springfield Thunderbirds have scratched Henrik Borgstrom (C) and Aleski Heponiemi (C) for precautionary reasons.

Florida Panthers could be taking a shot at Hall, They really wanted Panarin this off season.

I'd expect them to add larger pieces via free agency at this point

Hall is the largest potential free agent.

After Hall the potential UFA market is.

    Alex Pietrangelo.

    Tory Krug.

    Mike Hoffman.

    Chris Kreider.

Pretty slim pickings for free agents, 2021 UFA market could be stacked.

Re: Taylor Hall a Healthy Scratch

If I was a GM I would walk away from the Hall trade talks.

This guy is really not worth the asking price and his next contract will be an albatross.

Hall misses 20 games a season on avg due to injury.

    And he's basically a 20 goal 53 points a season guy.

How much is a 28 year old with those number really worth?

At the minimum 7 but none of those guys with the same numbers have ever scored 90 or 83 or won a hart trophy so I would bet at least in the ballpark of Mark Stone.
    Wingers up there in Salary:
    Panarin 11.6M
    Marner 10.8M
    Kane 10.5M
    Ovi 9.5M
    Stone 9.5M
    Benn 9.5M
    Kucherov 9.5M
    Rantanen 9.25M
    Skinner 9M
    Aho 8.4M
    Voracek 8.25M
    Wheeler 8.25M

Only guys on that list with a Hart are Kane and Ovi. Someone will pay him at least 8.5 but I bet above 9M. He doesn't score like some on the list but he definitely is in the ballpark with some of the others.

Arizona sends Nate Schnarr (C) Nick Merkley (D) Kevin Bahl (D) a 2020 1st round pick and a 2021 conditional 3rd round pick that can become a 1st.

Kevin Bahl is 19 years old and he's 6'7 235 pounds.

I hear ya but I'm still iffy about him.

2017-18) 39G This is what makes his contract negations dangerous.

2018-19) 11G Taylor is injured every other season.

2019-20) 6G Only 6 goals so far this season.

Not saying Taylors a scrub, He has an inconsistent record, Injuries have derailed him, Makes for tricky contract negations.

Now Ryan Strome and Chris Kreider are up.

I would be too but I think there is a higher reward to the risk in this case. Here is what sportsnet is saying about the comparable contracts:

Those were B and C level prospects and that 1st rounder will most likely be in the high 20's.

Arizona has to make a playoff push, Excuses get old.
