    The Process

One of the core tenets of the process, per my understating, is to increase competition and depth at all positions.

As such... the Bills should look to add a starting caliber QB via free agency, trade or a round 1 selection in the draft.

The Bills won’t do this though. Not just that, but they’re going to give this tool a long-term high dollar extension at some point.

the result of the road were on... another decade of my life wasted on stupidity.

    Stay in the Spin Zone.
Draft a franchise QB that X-Era would be proud to put in his user name for the next 13 years.

    Re: The Process

I also believe in some competition but I'd use a mid-round pick to do it.

There's times you find that diamond in the rough and at a minimum you'll send a message to Allen that he needs to play better and with more consistency.

Plus the mid-round guy might be good enough to beat out Barkley for the backup job.

Are you simple, seriously? How many teams in the history of the NFL brings in serious competition for their fanchise QB? You bring in competition when you have a Cassel and a Johnson or Barkley and Flutie. In other words for a bunch of second stringers.

I think this team is close to being a serious contender in the AFC.

I wouldn't want to use a 2nd on a guy who's likely at best to be a backup, especially with how deep the WR class is in this draft and we could use another WR, mainly a big target in the red zone.

Sure, forget about OT, WR, TE, CB, DL or LB, let's use a second round pick on a QB. Just what we need to do is cause locker room trouble!

I'm not sold on him being a franchise guy either, which is why I wouldn't be opposed to using a 3rd or 4th on a QB.

I feel next season is Allen's make it or break it year.

If we have another inconsistent season from him, it's gotta be time to move in a different direction as his uneven performances aren't good enough to beat the good teams in this league. And ultimately the goal is to beat those teams so you can make a playoff run.

Now if you draft that guy in the 3rd or 4th round and he appears to be a diamond in the rough, he'll have a full year of development in your system and a serious competition, and likely starting QB, in year two. Or maybe the switch does go on for Allen and you'll have a solid trade chip. Then there's always he's just some bum like Cardale Jones was, but you used a mid round pick and who cares.

I get that... but QB is too important of a position to hope on getting lucky with mid round pick.

Mid round pick? Sure. FA starting QB or first rounder? Dumb.

Better to use resources to improve the players around Allen first.

    That's my thinking as well.

I'd be targeting James Morgan out of Florida International in the 3rd or 4th round.
