WR Prospects like what they see in Buffalo

Clemson receiver Tee Higgins, who is one of the tallest receivers in the class, is a favorite to head to Buffalo on several mock drafts. Higgins likes what he sees in the toughness of the Bills, plus the cold doesn't scare him. "It's a playoff team," Higgins said. "It's real cold up there, but I'm from Tennessee and it gets cold up in Tennessee. It's just a team that's hungry and you can tell they're pushing for a Super Bowl really soon."

    Excellent article.

    Meh.

They all want to be drafted high so they make more money off of their rookie deals. They all know we need WR's. So of course they're going to say good things about Buffalo publicly.

Shenault is a beast, but for some reason he reminds me of Sammy Walkins. I'd like to see Higgins in B lo.

In what regards? Talent/measurables? or durability?

Sammy put up some pretty good numbers when you consider the offense we had and the QB throwing him the ball. If Shenault is anything like Sammy talent wise, I'd love to have him (though if he produced like Sammy in college, he'd likely be the first WR off the board anyways).

Shenault scares me because he's never been able to consistently produce... even though he's physically superior to a lot of the college guys. Not sure if it's all the injuries or whatever, but I wonder if he's going to be one of those looks like tarzan plays like jane type of players.

Shenault definitely doesn't play like Jane. I think he's one of the most physical WRs. Doesn't shy away from contact and can knock defenders down.

I think he's similar to Sammy in size and athleticism. They seem to also have similar scouting reports as far as being strong after the catch and being more like a RB with the ball in their hands.

I'd rather see an OT in round 1. My 1st choice if he's still there would be Andrew Thomas of Ga

I'd love for this to happen, but we'll have to trade up... Hoping he falls out of the top 10 (for some reason he's been leap froged by Wirfs and Wills).

I figure in the top 15, in no order, these guys are pretty much a lock to be gone:
4 QBs (Burrows, Tua, Love and Hebert), 1 DE (Chase), at least 2 DBs (Simmons and Okudah), 2 DT (Derrick Brown & Kinlaw), at least 2 WRs (Jeudy and Lamb) and at least 2 OTs (2 of Wills, Wirfs, or Thomas - though I dont see any chance of any of the three lasting to our pick).

If we trade up, I'm hoping it's only due to us going after one of those 3 OT's or to go after Jeudy or Lamb. Otherwise, we should have our pick of of one of these WRs (Ruggs, Shenault, Ayiuk, or Higgins) or best DE that's left (Chaisson, Gross-Matos, or Espensa - though are any of these guys going to turn out better than Shaq?)

Or, take a risk and draft a guy like Becton (giant OT) or Josh Jones at our pick?

True, but in college. And he's been injured a heck of a lot with that playstyle - again playing in college.

I wonder what will happen in the pros, when he doesnt have the same physical advantages

You're breaking protocol. Pine for 1 guy and scream at anyone that counters.

You can get a good WR in round 2. And even 3.

Not so sure about that... Round 2 maybe, but round 3 it'll be picking low floor high upside players. But I think the bigger issue is finding someone to upgrade our WR corps. We have Beasley and Brown right now. No point spending a high draft pick (round 2 or 3) if they're just WR3 on this team or ST players.

His highlights did remind me a lot of Sammy at Clemson, that said I'm not a fan and his poor forty time yesterday likely takes him out of the 1st Round discussion.

It looked like he was hurt. If he doesnt improve that time during his pro day, then yes... likely out of the first.

Good WR's will fall to the 3rd round.

QB's, OL, and Edge will be drafted early and often.

    Patience sports fans.

Re: WR Prospects like what they see in Buffalo

If we do go WR, I'm a little more interested in playmaker than simply "tall."

Tee Higgins worries me a little bit. Just watched a bunch of highlights, and he kind of feels like a guy that's dominant in college but not quite explosive enough to be more than average in the NFL. Brandon Aiyuk is my guy at WR right now (assuming of course Jeudy/Lamb/Ruggs are gone). He looks like he has great hands and a ton of explosion. Only 5-11 but long arms. Shenault looks interesting too, but not as polished as a route runner, and injuries are concerning. I do see the Sammy Watkins/Percy Harvin comparisons--unplayable when they're healthy and on, but way too frequently either sidelined or limited by injury.
Wake up, brush your teeth, and get ready for a day of hating the Dolphins. Or the Pats? How to choose?

Shenault to have core surgery Tuesday. Has an injury history already. Nope.
