Micah Parsons more focused on impact plays than sack total - ProFootballTalk

“I’m kinda off the sack wave. I’m onto the impact wave,” Parsons said, via Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. “You see Aaron Donald. He can have 12 sacks, but the impact he makes is so dominant. You can tell. I really just want to be dominant. And then you see guys who have 16-17 sacks, but they’re not considered a guy. I want to be a guy, not one of the guys. You feel me? . . . I’m not chasing for something. I’m trying to achieve and be greater than someone who is chasing.”

Commanders WR Jahan Dotson on OC Eric Bieniemy- 'He's brought culture to our team'

Jahan Dotson senses a difference in Washington entering Year 2, and he attributes the shift to new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

"I feel like he's brought culture to our team," Dotson said Saturday at his youth football camp, via
Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post. "He's brought a sense of energy, a sense of urgency. It's been really good just being able to learn from him and just get familiar with the things he wants us to do and the things we want to do."

Bieniemy comes to Washington after five years of unrivaled success as Kansas City's OC, where the unit he led in tandem with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes twice placed first in the league in points and three times paced the NFL in yards. If he brings even a portion of that success through his installation of a new vibe in D.C., it could mean massive improvement for the Commanders.

Jerry Jones not ruling out re-signing Ezekiel Elliott - ProFootballTalk

That matches what Jones has been saying throughout the offseason. Although the Cowboys released Elliott because he was overpaid on his former contract, they’re not opposed to bringing him back if he’s willing to play for significantly less.

The 27-year-old Elliott is coming off a season in which he had a career-low 876 rushing yards, a career-low 3.8 yards per carry, a career-low 92 receiving yards, and a career-low 5.4 yards per catch. Given that, it would be hard to justify paying him significant money — especially because the Cowboys have already guaranteed running back Troy Pollard a $10.091 million base salary for this season.

Amari Cooper- If I were Deshaun Watson, I'd want to bring in DeAndre Hopkins - ProFootballTalk

Watson’s current No. 1 target, Amari Cooper, said on Tuesday that he hadn’t caught wind of those remarks. But he also is not opposed to Cleveland adding Hopkins.
“I didn’t see that, but who wouldn’t? DeAndre has been a very great player in this league,” Cooper said in his press conference. “Obviously, they have a lot of great chemistry. If I was him, I’d want the same thing.”
Cooper noted that adding Hopkins would give the Browns a player with a different skillset than his own who can get the job done.
“With DeAndre, he’s pretty unstoppable with the way he uses his hands and his body to position himself well to make the catch,” Cooper said. “So, it would be pretty good.”
Cooper led the Browns last year with 78 catches, 1,160 yards, and nine touchdowns. If Cleveland were to add Hopkins, it would likely cut into Cooper’s targets — which the receiver would be OK with as long as that translates to victories.

Derek Carr- Everyone loves working with Mike Thomas - ProFootballTalk

Saints quarterback Derek Carr and wide receiver Mike Thomas haven’t practiced together for long, but they already have a connection.
“If he went out there and ran certain routes right now, I’d know exactly what he was going to do and I’d put it on him,” Carr said. “It’s just cool to have him in the building. Everyone was excited to see him. Everybody loves him here, they love his work ethic, they love his competitiveness, his leadership, the way he practices, the way he prepares.”

Chase Young- I've always played to prove myself - ProFootballTalk

Commanders defensive end Chase Young is heading into a pivotal season and he said on Tuesday that he feels a “night and day” difference from where he was last year.
Young returned for the final three games of the year after an extended recovery from a torn ACL and cited “my confidence, my strength” as reasons why he feels so different now. Young said he felt “explosive” on the field during Tuesday’s minicamp practice, but the state of his knee wasn’t the only topic of conversation.

Broncos could have interest in Dalvin Cook, if he's released - ProFootballTalk

It makes sense. G.M. George Paton served as assistant G.M. in Minnesota when Cook was drafted, six years ago. Also, Broncos coach Sean Payton wants a heavy rotation of running backs.
The money will be the issue. The Broncos have $11.7 million in cap space. A trade of Cook’s current salary of $10.4 million to Denver won’t happen, absent a restructuring.
But if Cook gets cut, the Broncos might just give it a shot. Along with others.

Texans' Dameon Pierce studying Christian McCaffrey in preparation for OC Bobby Slowik's 'RB friendly' offense

Dameon Pierce made himself a well-known commodity amid a stellar rookie season in 2022, and the Texans running back is expecting a productive follow-up by virtue of Houston's rookie offensive coordinator in 2023.

Bobby Slowik was brought along by new Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans from San Francisco, where he was heavily involved in Kyle Shanahan's highly efficient offensive scheme the past few years.

Pierce, who described Slowik's offense as "running back friendly" at OTAs, has been studying 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey in preparation for being utilized more frequently through the air.

"Oh, the more ways I can get the ball, the better, baby. I love that. I love that," Pierce said Tuesday. "But, I've got a lot of great guys to look at. Most recently, probably Christian McCaffrey. He thrived last year in the league, in his offense he's just getting out of the backfield, getting in the flat, catching hitches or whatever the case may be. There's multiple ways to get a running back the ball."
