State of the 2023 Los Angeles Rams- Sean McVay & Co. set to rebound from brutal Super Bowl hangover?

Quarterback: Matthew Stafford. Here's something interesting: Pro Football Focus ranked Stafford 12th among NFL quarterbacks heading into the 2023 campaign, just behind Dak Prescott and Tua Tagovailoa. PFF rightfully cites concerns about Stafford's health coming off a season that was waylaid by injuries, including a spinal cord contusion that helped send him to injured reserve in December. But I don't want Stafford's recent ailments to distract us too much from what he's capable of. At 35, he's still four years younger than Aaron Rodgers -- and Stafford has just as many Super Bowl rings as the Packer-turned-Jet, despite playing most of his career in worse circumstances in Detroit than Rodgers enjoyed in Green Bay. The Rams floundered without Stafford last season. If he's ready to go, as he indicated he is, that's obviously going to make a huge difference for Los Angeles.

For enough money, sure, Saudi Arabia could buy an NFL team - ProFootballTalk

NFL rules prohibit foreign investment in franchises. But rules were made to be disregarded, when sufficiently profitable to do so.

Tuesday’s stunning news that the PGA Tour and LIV golf have settled their differences with a merger that is more akin to a LIV buyout shows that everything and everyone has a price. At a certain price, everything and everyone is for sale.

So, yes, the Public Investment Fund (the formal name of the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia) can get into the NFL if it wants. And if it has to set up a competing league to light the fuse, so be it.

It worked in golf. Why wouldn’t it work in football?

Again, they have to want it. If they truly do, they can pull it off.

The NFL, after decades of rule changes aimed at making the game safer, has risked the arrival of a competitor with players and fans that embrace “old-school football.” The Public Investment Fund could start there, if blocked in the effort to buy a team. If they want one.

George Kittle's praise for Trey Lance confirms his past struggles - ProFootballTalk

49ers tight end George Kittle has plenty of praise for quarterback Trey Lance, the third overall pick in the 2021 draft. Kittle’s positive comments, however, make it clear that Lance struggled in the past.

“I think Trey looks significantly better than he did last year,” Kittle told reporters on Tuesday. “I think his confidence is there. I think that he’s throwing really good passes. . . . I think Trey’s, he just looks comfortable back there. He doesn’t look like — um, he just looks like he’s having fun.”

Report- Vikings getting calls about Danielle Hunter - ProFootballTalk

Dalvin Cook’s future with the Vikings has been the subject of a lot of speculation recently, but the running back may not the only veteran who is less than a sure thing to remain in Minnesota for the coming season.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Vikings have been receiving calls from teams gauging the possibility of trading for edge rusher Danielle Hunter. Rapoport added that the interest is believed to be real for a player who is heading into the final year of his contract.

Former Giants wide receiver Travis Rudolph found not guilty of murder - ProFootballTalk

Former Giants wide receiver Travis Rudolph was acquitted today of one count of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder.
Rudolph admits that he shot 39 rounds at a group of four men outside his home, killing one of them, but he says he fired in self-defense, and a jury found him not guilty after deliberating for about four hours.

Luke Schoonmaker out of walking boot, will be ready for training camp - ProFootballTalk

The Cowboys drafted Michigan’s Luke Schoonmaker in the second round to compete for their starting tight end job. Dalton Schultz left for Houston in free agency, leaving Jake Ferguson, Peyton Hendershot and Sean McKeon as the other tight ends on the roster.
Schoonmaker, though, hasn’t missed some time with a plantar fascia injury in his foot.

Nick Bosa on contract extension- I think I'll get what I deserve - ProFootballTalk

Nick Bosa is entering the final year of his rookie deal due to make $17.859 million on the fifth-year option. The 49ers can lower his cap number by reaching agreement on a long-term deal, and they surely are motivated to do so as his price tag is only going to rise the longer they wait.
Bosa was asked Tuesday how confident he is about getting an extension completed before training camp starts in late July.
It’s pretty high,” Bosa said, via David Bonilla of 49erswebzone.com. “Yeah, I think I’m pretty confident about that.”
Bosa, the 2022 defensive player of the year, is expected to receive a record-breaking deal for his position. Steelers edge rusher T.J. Watt currently holds the highest annual average salary at $28 million, with Joey Bosa the second highest at $27 million.

Report- XFL quarterback Jack Coan to work out for 49ers - ProFootballTalk

Coan played for the San Antonio Brahmas, making seven starts and appearing in one other game. He completed 62.2 percent of his passes for 1,471 yards with six touchdowns, six interceptions and a passer rating of 76.1.

He participated in the Seahawks’ rookie minicamp as a tryout player, but the team didn’t sign him.

The Colts signed Coan as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame in 2022. They waived him out of the preseason, and he signed with the Brahmas in November.

The 49ers have Brock Purdy, Trey Lance, Sam Darnold and Brandon Allen on their roster, though Purdy still is working his way back from elbow surgery and not participating in the offseason program.
