Could Jonathan Taylor be traded? - NBC Sports

Once upon a time, the Colts traded Marshall Faulk, after four 1,000-yard rushing performances in five seasons. Could history sort of repeat itself?
Stephen Holder, who covers the Colts for ESPN.com, [COLOR=var(--color-primary-text)]has mentioned the possibility of running back Jonathan Taylor being traded by the team.[/COLOR]
It would have been inconceivable a year ago, when Taylor entered the year as everyone’s first overall fantasy football pick. And for good reason. He had 1,811 rushing yards and 20 total touchdowns in 2021, his second NDL season.
Last year came the regression, thanks to an ankle injury and dysfunction that enveloped the entire franchise.

Jerry Jones on Zack Martin- We need the money to pay Micah Parsons - NBC Sports

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones didn’t have much to say earlier this week about right guard Zack Martin’s decision to hold out of training camp, but he had a bit more to say on the subject Saturday.

Martin is looking for an adjustment to his contract, which runs through the 2024 season, and Jones said on Saturday that there has been “no resolution” when it comes to making that happen. Jones suggested that will remain the case because the team is looking at the need to sign defensive star Micah Parsons and other players down the road.

“He’s been at the top of the money the whole time,” Jones said, via the team’s website. “If you make that adjustment, then you don’t have the money to pay the guys on their first contract. It has nothing to do with him. It’s not about precedent, it’s about facts. We [COLOR=var(--color-primary-text)]need the money to pay Parsons. We need the money to pay the players that we got to pay in the future. That’s a fact.”

Report- Steelers agree to terms with Kwon Alexander - NBC Sports

The Steelers have agreed to terms with linebacker Kwon Alexander pending a physical, Brooke Pryor of ESPN reports.
Alexander, 28, worked out for the team in May.
The Steelers added Cole Holcomb and Elandon Roberts in a free agency overhaul at inside linebacker and now have another veteran addition.
Alexander spent last season with the Jets. He appeared in all 17 games for the team with 12 starts, playing 49 percent of the defensive snaps. Alexander finished with 69 total tackles with six tackles for loss and two quarterback hits.

Raiders release O.J. Howard - NBC Sports

Tight end O.J. Howard’s bid to make the Raiders has come to an end.

Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the Raiders released Howard on Tuesday.

Howard signed with the Raiders as a free agent in March as part of their plan to move on without Darren Waller this season. That plan also included signing Austin Hooper and selecting Michael Mayer with a second-round pick, so it appears the other new arrivals have proven to be a better fit in Vegas.

Report- Isiah Pacheco is expected to be cleared for contact in mid-August - NBC Sports

Pacheco has been practicing in a non-contact jersey at training camp because of a torn labrum in his shoulder and a broken bone in his hand. James Palmer of NFL Media reports that Pacheco is expected to be cleared for contact by August 20.

Report- Teddy Bridgewater agrees to terms with Lions - NBC Sports

The Lions did not hide their interest in Teddy Bridgewater. The team let him know in March it wanted him as Jared Goff’s backup, gave him a “strong offer” in April and hosted him on a visit July 24.
He surely wanted a starting job that never surfaced.
Instead, the Lions finally have agreed to terms with the veteran quarterback, NFL Media reports.
It reunites Bridgewater with head coach Dan Campbell, who was the Saints’ tight ends coach/assistant head coach in 2018-19 when Bridgewater was in New Orleans.

George Kittle has adductor injury, Ray-Ray McCloud broke his wrist - NBC Sports

The 49ers are dealing with some injury issues in their receiving corps right now.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters on Thursday that tight end George Kittle has an adductor strain and wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud broke his wrist. Kittle is expected to miss a week, but McCloud’s absence will be longer.
McCloud needs surgery and is expected to miss about eight weeks, so he won’t be available until the regular season is underway. The 49ers will have to carry him on the active roster through final cuts because putting him on injured reserve now would close the door on having him return later in the year. He would be able to return after four games if he is put on injured reserve after the cut to 53 players.

Mike Evans' agent sets Sept. 9 deadline in contract talks with Buccaneers

In a lengthy statement released to NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo, Evans' agent, Deryk Gilmore, said he would cut off contract talks next Saturday, Sept. 9, a day before the season starts. Evans is entering the final year of his contract.

"Despite our efforts over the past two years, and the professionalism of Bucs General Manager, Jason Licht, and Assistant General Manager, Mike Greenberg, we have not received an offer to stay in Tampa," Gilmore said in the statement. "This is disappointing to Mike as he sees other teams step up to keep key pieces and players that are important to their organizations. Many players with his status would have held out of camp to not risk injury, but Mike has continued practicing hard, as always, because he puts his team first.
