Steelers agree to sign Isaac Seumalo - ProFootballTalk

Seumalo is the second former Eagles guard the Steelers have signed in free agency. They also signedNate Herbig, who most recently played for the Jets but played three seasons in Philadelphia when Steelers assistant General Manager Andy Weidl was with the Eagles. Weidl likely played a big role in both former Philadelphia linemen coming to Pittsburgh.

Will the Patriots pursue Lamar Jackson? - ProFootballTalk

Will the Patriots pursue Lamar Jackson?

“If you’re the Patriots, and you go and you make an attempt to get Lamar, that changes everything,” Ninkovich said Friday on Get Up!, via NBC Sports Boston. “Absolutely everything. And listen, I am a huge fan of Lamar’s style of game and what it puts on a defense, the stresses.
“And there’s needs and wants, OK? A need is necessary for life. A want, it helps your quality of life. I don’t need Lamar here, but I sure as heck want to see Lamar running around with a New England Patriot on his helmet. Because if you see it out there, the Patriots instantly become division favorites and, to me, get right back into that Super Bowl hunt.”
More recently, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com described the Patriots as a “wild card” for the 2019 NFL MVP, via NESN.com.

Former Bills safety Jaquan Johnson signs with Las Vegas Raiders - Buffalo Rumblings

Jaquan Johnson signs with Las Vegas Raiders

Johnson, who joined the Bills as a sixth-round draftee out of the University of Miami in 2019, appeared in 16 of Buffalo’s games during the 2022 season. With Micah Hyde missing almost the complete season and Jordan Poyer missing multiple games over the course of the year, Johnson had the most productive season of his career with 34 tackles, two passes defended, and two interceptions.
Despite the uptick in performance for Johnson, who recorded three starts — the most of his career (his only other start came in 2021), it was Damar Hamlin who saw the most action in the absence of Micah Hyde. When Hamlin went down, the Bills inserted veteran Dean Marlowe into the lineup.

Seahawks announce release of Al Woods - ProFootballTalk

The 13-year veteran started 30 games the past two years, totaling a career-high 50 tackles in 2021 and 39 tackles last season. He also recorded 3.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss combined the past two years.
His departure continues an overhaul of the defensive line. The Seahawks released Shelby Harris and Quinton Jefferson last week and have added defensive ends Dre'Mont Jones and Jarran Reed in free agency.

Dont'a Hightower announces his retirement - ProFootballTalk

“Today, I am officially retiring from the NFL. I know these announcements always feel bittersweet, but I can’t think of a better story than the one I wrote in New England. A decade, three Super Bowls, two Pro Bowls, and the birth of my son — all playing for one franchise. How many guys have a story like that?

Jets trade Elijah Moore to Browns - ProFootballTalk

The Jets are trading Elijah Moore to the Browns, according to multiple reports.

Cleveland will send the No. 42 overall pick in the second round to New York in exchange for Elijah Moore and the 74th overall pick in the third round.

Moore reportedly asked for a trade during the 2022 season after an alleged “blow up” with then-offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur. But he ended up staying with the team and was on the field for 66 percent of the team’s offensive snaps. Only Garrett Wilson played more offensive snaps at the receiver position.

Bryce Young declines to weigh in at Pro Day workout - ProFootballTalk

His weight at the Combine was 204 pounds. But he didn’t work out there. At his Pro Day, where he will work out, he declined to get back on the scale.
There’s a little hocus focus going on with this. Young quite possibly deliberately gained weight before the Combine, in order to get north of 200 pounds. Now, for when he’ll be scrutinized as he moves around, he’s back down to his playing weight — likely well south of the 200-pound mark.
Weight is nearly as important as height for NFL quarterbacks. Short is one thing. Slight of frame is another.
Look at how Tua Tagovailoa was rag-dolled around in 2022, resulting in two (three) concussions after his helmet struck the turf.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Elliott is deciding between the Bengals, Jets, and Eagles and wants to choose a team by the end of next week.

Cowart spent last season with the Colts, appearing in all 17 games. He played 20 percent of the defensive snaps and 20 percent of special teams snaps, recording 12 tackles with two for loss.
A fifth-round pick in the 2019 draft, Coward spent his first three seasons with the Patriots. He missed the 2021 season due to injury and the Colts claimed him after he was waived last July.
