Allen Lazard not practicing after he was stepped on last week

The Packers could be without one of their key offensive weapons this week.
Receiver Allen Lazard is still not practicing after he wasn’t on the field last week. But head coach Matt LaFleur provided a little more information on the situation.

T.J. Watt appears to have torn pectoral muscle

    https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ctoral-muscle/

The Steelers won a wild battle today in Cincinnati, but it may have come at a great cost.

Steelers pass rusher T.J. Watt, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, suffered what the team believes was a torn pectoral muscle in the fourth quarter, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Chiefs injuries due to loose turf at State Farm Stadium

Reid attributed the looseness of the turf to the fact that the re-sodding had happened recently.
“The field at State Farm Stadium is routinely ranked among the best — if not THE best — among NFL players, including in surveys conducted by the NFLPA,” Dalton said. “Like all fields, the surface at State Farm Stadium undergoes the NFL’s required testing and certification process both before and after games. Sunday it not only met but exceeded those standards.”
The reality is that all sorts of fields that arguably shouldn’t be certified somehow are, including a Chicago swamp on Sunday.

Nathaniel Hackett: “Looking back at it, we definitely should have gone for it”

After sleeping on it, Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett realizes he screwed up at the end of Monday night’s loss to the Seahawks.
Hackett acknowledged today that his decision to attempt a 64-yard field goal instead of going for it on fourth-and-5 was wrong, but he said at the time he was thinking that if the Broncos’ offense got to the 46-yard line they would be in field goal range, and that is where the Broncos’ offense ended up.

Patrick Mahomes: I’m sure I’ll be good to go this week

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes injured his left wrist on the first of his five touchdown passes in the Week One victory over the Cardinals.

But Mahomes, obviously, was able to play through it. And after he was listed as a full participant on Kansas City’s Monday injury report estimate, there don’t seem to be any real concerns as the Chiefs get ready to face the Chargers on Thursday.

Patriots place Ty Montgomery on IR, sign Lil’Jordan Humphrey to active roster

Patriots running back Ty Montgomery injured his ankle in the team’s preseason finale Aug. 26. He returned to play the season opener Sunday, seeing action on 21 offensive snaps and seven on special teams.

But Montgomery now will miss at least the next four games.

Zech McPhearson named NFC special teams player of the week

Cade York named AFC special teams player of the week

It’s unconventional to select a kicker in the fourth round of the draft.
But Cade York illustrated exactly why Cleveland did it on Sunday, sending a 58-yard field goal through the uprights as time expired to give the Browns a 26-24 victory over the Panthers.
