Bills Embedded 2020 - the Draft

Once again it's palpable from Epenesa's reaction after being selected by the Bills that he felt the drop. Something tells me McDermott won't let him forget that any time soon.

Yay, beat me to it. I enjoyed the one last year. Actually in the middle of watching it now.

Loved the interview portions, something a regular fan doesn't usually get to see.

I can see why Davis is easy to hate. Stupid scouts. :-)

Hes not extremely likeable but I'll give him a shot

I really like these. The one last year was great.

I thought it was interesting when they were watching 40s at the combine and Beane said he hopes Davis runs slow because he knows he plays fast.

The more I hear Beane and McDermott speak the more I think these guys don't sugarcoat or BS answers when asked direct questions. With previous Bills coaches and GM's I never knew wether they were actually serious in their answers or just blowing smoke and patronizing not only the fans but the media. I think these guys tell it how it is and the truth as they see it and i find that very refreshing. I also love these embedded series. I had always wanted to be a fly on the wall during draft day war rooms and we got that last year it was awesome viewing I loved it. Hearing the players interviews I thought was cool too. As far as players being likeable i honestly dint care how nice they are I want savages between the lines on Sunday LOL

From what I gather, Davis has two things going for him: catching the ball (really a theme that McDermott is zoning on) and getting off the scrimmage. Those traits are what the Bills WR corp is sorely missing for a number of years.

I'm not that worried about Davis' speed, but the ability to run precise routes is what's going to make or break his career in NFL. Just be where you are supposed to be at various time windows in your route.

    "i Like this kid"

that clip could have been used for anyone we drafted if we didnt end up with Epenesa

Beane like throwing "chip on your shoulder" to fire up the players.

I enjoyed Epenesa talking about Cam getting strip sacked twice in the SuperBowl. Even better is Leslie driving the knife, he seems pretty composed most of the time, so it was fun to see him giggling while he stirred the pot.

McD was legit still upset about it.

I like when watching Davis run his 40 at Indy, Beane hopes he doesn't run too fast...since it doesn't matter to him because he already likes him. Shows how overrated the 40 is with some. Field speed on film never lies.

I wouldn't say it never lies, small school guys that haven't played against top competition still need to put up NFL caliber numbers. 4.5 is good enough that you can trust the film. If he put up a 4.6 or 4.7, it would definitely affect where he got placed on Beane's board.

You think so, even though he said he hoped the kid didn't have a great run?

Yeah, he said he hopes he runs a 4.58, maybe a 4.60 or 4.62 wouldn't change it, but slower than that and they'd go back to look. If they can find games where he's outrunning guys with faster 40 times, then no problem, but if not they'd have to move him down.

That's the problem with small school guys, they might only have a few plays against other combine invites, so the combine and pro day does become a test of physical thresholds.
