There were both a lot of good things and a lot of bad things in yesterday's game that have already been discussed. But, a big thing that held this team back last year was an inability to beat good teams. We only beat one team that finished over .500, and that was the Titans who switched QB's after their loss to us and became much better.

So, based on what we saw yesterday, which teams on the schedule can we actually beat. If we fumble in the red zone against the Chiefs, do you think they're gonna go 3 and out, punt, then let us march right back and get a touchdown? Between the fumbles and the missed FG's, that was 4 trips to the red zone that resulted in 0 points. Do you think we'll beat the Chiefs if we leave that many points off the board? What about SF, Seattle, the Rams, Pittsburgh or even the Titans and Patriots?

I'm hoping it was just rust due to a lack of preseason practice, and we just got lucky that we got to tune up against a bad, injury-riddled Jets team, but right now, it looks like another season of not being able to hang with the big boys, and there are a lot more big boys on the schedule this year than last year.

Josh's fumbles were disturbing given his history with fumbles however it did appear that the game has slowed down for him and he was surveying the field properly.

We dominated from the start in every facet of the game except rushing where our OL simply could not create holes against a very good run stopping Jets DL.

The Dolphins have elite CBs so I can see us being much more successful and committed to the run this upcoming week.

If Josh keeps improving, we will find a way to 11-5 or 10-6.

The had the game firmly in control from start to finish. And when it comes to divisional opponents, you never know. Just look at the Cheats and Dols the last game of last season.

They had the game firmly in control because the D forced 3 and outs on the first 3 drives by the Jets. This D is good but they won't be able to do that to the better teams on the schedule.

They play Tennessee, Kansas City, New England (2x), Seattle and San Francisco, that's six games against 2019 playoff teams. If they go 3-3 is that enough? 2-4? 4-2?

the only time the bills were stopped yesterday was when we shot ourselves on the foot. That is fixable with repetition which we didn't have due to lack of camp and preseason.

It's not about me being satisfied. It's about beating enough good teams to get a home playoff game. It's about being able to hang with the good teams enough to get out of the first round of the playoffs.

Usually you're smart enough to play the "make it about Op" game. Not sure why you're doing it now.

It's amazing that a conclusion can be reached after one game, a game that despite 2 red zone turnovers and 2 missed FGs we still scored 27.

Even in NE's heydays, they lost early season games to lowly teams like the Bills. I shudder to think what OP would say then.

Yeah, that's usually how games work. Tteams don't score on every drive.

Fumbling is a lot easier to solve than surveying the field and making good pass decisions. Or being accurate.

I feel like maybe fumbling is one of the biggest outcomes of not having preseason and having people smashing on your arms again. That's why I came away more encouraged than discouraged. He's going to solve the fumbling issue eventually. It's actually probably a good thing for the season that it happened yesterday. It didn't matter to the outcome, and he and the coaching staff will be on red alert going forward.

It was his first game back in action.... Where the opponents are actually trying to crush people... Give the dude a break. He isn't going to average 2 fumbles a game. Especially 2 lost fumbles. I'm pretty sure we didn't have our team wack him at all during the 2 week offseason.
