Wearing a mask as a player? Yeah that’s not gonna work.

this game AND the other game needs to be cancelled.

What other games? You can't cancel games and award playoff berths at the end of the season. What are you talking about?

Re: Covid Bites - Steelers-Titans Postponed

The NFL plan...if this kind of inevitable thing happens....is to postpone the games and mess around with bye weeks.

This Washington Post article gives the details...here are the segments that are pertinent....

The NFL has its first coronavirus outbreak. Here’s how it plans to respond.

The Titans were scheduled to host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, but the NFL announced Wednesday that the game will be rescheduled for Monday or Tuesday “to allow additional time for further daily COVID-19 testing and to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel.” Playing on a Tuesday is rare but has happened in the past: In 2010, the league postponed a Vikings-Eagles game to a Tuesday because of a snowstorm in Philadelphia that eventually never materialized.

Should the Titans-Steelers game become unplayable in Week 4, the NFL schedule does offer some room for maneuvering. The league could make Week 4 the bye week for both teams and reschedule the Tennessee-Pittsburgh game for Week 7, when Tennessee originally was supposed to have a bye and the Steelers were to face the Baltimore Ravens. Week 7 would then become the Ravens’ bye week. Baltimore could then face Pittsburgh in Week 8, which is the Steelers’ scheduled bye week. Also, playing Monday is a possibility for Titans-Steelers, and that would give the Titans one more day to practice.

The Vikings are scheduled to visit the Houston Texans on Sunday and the game is still on as of late Wednesday morning.
The NFL has done a very good job...so far...of laying out plans for how to deal with the pandemic and the almost assured outbreaks like this. They have a plan, and now have to cary it out and limit the damage and spread....keeping players and other personal safe & healthy and preserving the integrity of the season.

    Let's hope they are successful.

Make them replace the players who tested positive and play the game when it was supposed to be played.

With the far bigger practice squads this year, You would think ...instant activation.

This is BS... If the Titans players and staffers were irresponsible and contracted Covid, it's on them. Too bad if they can't prepare for the game on Sunday. It should be treated like an injury.

Re: Covid Bites - Steelers-Titans Postponed

What I want to know is are they going back to whoever the Titans played in week 3 and testing that team? Is it possible the Titans got it somewhere from that game?

This is why it's impossible to prevent these outbreaks from happening. Unless you have players on a 24-7 lockdown and you know exactly where they are every minute of every day, you will never be able to 100% know how things like this happened.

I think he probably means the Minnesota vs Houston game. Seeing as how Tennessee just played Minnesota.

    Only a matter of time...

Only a matter of time before a similar thing happens later.

    It's a mess.

Put the covid positive players on IL and use practice squad players and back ups.

Anyone remember the movie 2nd String? The Bills win the Super Bowl.

Second String is a direct-to-TV film from 2002 about the Buffalo Bills football team who find its first string (led by real-life Bills quarterback Doug Flutie, who had left the team by the time the film was released) out for a month after a food poisoning incident, leading the team's head coach, "Chuck Dichter" (portrayed by Jon Voight), to hire an insurance salesman named Dan Heller (played by Gil Bellows) as the team's backup quarterback.

Its good news from a fan's point of view.

Gives them one less day to prepare for the Bills, right?

A Tuesday game with no practice should set the Bills up nicely for a Sunday game, their first practice would be Thursday (day off after the game). They might of thought to also make the Bills game a Monday night game too, screwing us up but we play the following Thursday against the Chiefs. That wonít fly or work.

There are going to be some unfair situations this season. Itís unfortunate but I think every team has to just count on things coming out in the wash over the long haul.
Wake up, brush your teeth, and get ready for a day of hating the Dolphins. Or the Pats? How to choose?

Look at the cheaters. They get to play the Raiders and Chiefs after short weeks. Do you think that by accident?

Can't do that. There is an incubation period. There may be others on the team that are converting to positive by the day. It's what's contact tracing is for. Can't play the game.

Patriots also got a gift call from the refs in the Raiders game I heard on the radio post-game.

Iím assuming that with daily testing up until Friday that they have no more new cases.

    Shocker!
