Josh Allen is Clearly the Best of the 2018 QB Class

His great numbers this year, his two playoff wins, and Jackson's 101 yard TD completion to Johnson prove it.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

No argument from me. He really has become that generational talent every team is looking for, and the conversation now isn't just 'the best of the draft class', it's about 'the best in the league', period.

I love it. All we hear about is how great Jackson is and he is but he’s not the passer Allen is. We got the best QB in that draft who could be a hall of famer some day. Our D also played lights out last night and did what not many teams could do all season.
My faith doesn’t make me perfect, it makes me forgiven.

I feel the Bills can win against anyone with Allen as our QB.

There is no doubt this is true. And has been fairly readily apparent all season. Actually, I felt the same way last year as well. Watching the reality of what Josh Allen was doing last year, it was fairly obvious that he was something VERY special, and outplayed every QB from 2018.

Yes, Lamar Jackson got all kinds of attention....that is what happens when a running back that can throw the ball first bursts on the scene. But, it was clear that he was no where close to being even a very good QB.

We heard from all the experts and writers last year that Allen showed many superhuman QB skills....and flashes of idiocy and head scratching decisions.

That is to be expected from a raw talent with not many starts under his belt. You could just feel the potential if he could just reduce the boneheaded "superman" plays and throw the ball with more accuracy.....the sky is the limit.

Well...he did both of those in SPECTACULAR fashion.

He is now unquestionably one of the top 3 elite QB's in the league, not just from the Class of 2018....with many years of greatness ahead.

Baker Mayfield is a scrapper and fiercely competitive. He will probably be a very good QB for years to come....probably the best Cleveland Browns QB in history (although that's not saying much).

Lamar Jackson, as I have been saying since his first season....is a running back that can throw the ball and not a skilled QB. He is one dimensional.....when he is limited from running the ball, he's pretty crappy. There is a reason the Ravens had the #32 passing offense this year.

He may come around and develop into a better passer.....but I see him having a career almost exactly like Michael Vick.

Sam Darnold has had the bad luck of having one of the worst football organizations in all of the NFL. He cerrianly has many of the skills present to succeed at a high level. It remains to be seen if he's already ruined.....or not.

Josh Allen was developed almost perfectly by the Bills organization. And I'm tickled pink to have him as MY TEAM'S QB....for years to come!!!

I’m really glad we got Josh and not another WB. Kudos to Beane and the rest of the scouts!

All we need now is for Josh to treat playoff games like regular season games so “Sugar High Josh” is a thing of the past lol. To be fair, the wind was crazy last night.

Re: Josh Allen is Clearly the Best of the 2018 QB Class

Not sure about clearly. Damn....a few of these guys are really playing well and making a difference.

I would be really happy if Josh Allen continues to do Josh Allen really well. The need to sit down and do some intense analysis of who is 'the best' right now isn't really what it is about. The other thing is, Baker Mayfield is still playing in this 'what have you done for me lately' world. You are saying early today that Allen is 'clearly the best' when he could be facing off against Mayfield head to head next week to add some data to this argument.

Does Jackson get a B+ because his snapper sucked yesterday? He was pretty good I would say...

A gamble paid off. Like a lottery.

Still has room to grow though, technique and recognition wise. I do think experience will help a great deal for him moving forward, especially in game situation, like taking wind into consideration etc.

I agree with this, although I only give Mayfield a B.

If he wins this afternoon, I bump that up a little....maybe

He's a great player. That is the type of game they play with him. The Bills are good. He was crushed by poor snapping yesterday. He didn't look clueless to me he looked like a highly skilled guy under duress trying to win a football game. OK he did throw that big pick six that cost them the game ... but that is very uncharacteristic of him.

Otto Graham would like to have a word with you, and Bernie Kosar and Frank Ryan are willing to hold until you're available. Wouldn't be surprised if Milt Plum is trying to get an open line also.

He didn't look good at all yesterday. He wasn't crushed by poor snapping. He was crushed by a D that contained him in the pocket, and made him become a passer for the most part. Is he a dangerous runner? Yes, of course. Is he a good QB? That's debatable.

The Bills proved that there is a way to defend Lamar Jackson. There doesn't look to be any foolproof way to defend against Josh Allen as long as you put the right team around him.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.
