I kind of feel bad for Culley, who actually did way better than I expected. But then again he walks away with $22 million total for it and I suppose I could live with someone making a fool of me for $22 million. Great guy, good deal.

Houston....well, not much to say about Houston as a franchise anymore.

Fool ? He's getting widespread respect everywhere for taking over a disaster.

Now the conversation will shift to minority candidates, with only Pittsburgh employing a man of color at HC.

I think Flores becoming available greased the skids on Culley.

I don't know. I mean right from the day he was hired, people were predicting it. The Houston organization appears to have done this purposefully. I just hope Culley realized it. He's roundly considered a wonderful individual and it just seems scummy.

Just because someone makes a fool of you, it doesn't make you a fool.

Raiders just fired GM Mike Mayock... on the NFL Network right now.

Was kind of a puzzling hire to begin with, though I love Mayock as a draft analyst.

Very good as an analyst ... should just return to that.

Really enjoyed him on draft day!

I kind of thought, if a team wanted to take an FO swing at him, it would have been in personnel slanted toward college. Not a GM, but hey..

Now he can go back to doing what he does best...draft analysis on a major network.

Don't know why they fired him though, thought he did a good job assembling talent and a pretty good roster.

Misses in the first round was probably part of it, even though his Day 2 and 3 picks hit pretty well.

Also there appears as though there was some sort of roster power vacuum that emerged after Gruden left that Mayock was gunning to fill and ended up getting burned by it.
