Bills' Harrison Phillips says he'll 'work through' playing with torn knee ligament

    https://buffalonews.com/sports/bills...e6718387a.html

Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Harrison Phillips doesn’t get much credit.

“In our defense, our nose guard, our one technique, it’s not a very glorious position,” Phillips said during a recent interview with The Buffalo News. “But it’s super, super important. I’ve described it before as the fire hydrant at the dog show. Somebody’s got to be it.”

Phillips, who has started the last three games in place of Star Lotulelei, who remains out on the reserve/Covid-19 list, played his best ball of the season in the Bills’ 31-6 victory against the New Orleans Saints on Thanksgiving in the Superdome, according to the analytics website Pro Football Focus.

Phillips played 35 snaps on defense (61%), tying Ed Oliver for the team lead among defensive tackles, and finished with two tackles. He is the Bills' highest-graded defensive tackle overall and against the run this season, per PFF, and has played the second-most snaps after Oliver, an impressive feat considering he is working with one good leg.

    BILLS AGAINST THE WORLD!

Feels like he's been here longer much longer than he has. Love the dude, had high hopes for him, kind of doesn't look like his legs are going to get him much farther though.

He's only played 39 out of 64 games with 6 starts in 4 years.

From the same article: “Phillips’ overall grade ranks 14th out of 131 NFL defensive tackles this season, according to PFF, and ninth out of 135 in run defense. His pass rush rates have been subpar.”

Wowsa, big Harry ever gets healthy and we may have our Star replacement on the roster

Love the heart .... he still needs help that a healthy hungry Star could provide .... we gotta add a beast I just think Star's days are numbered here. .... Oliver is playing better ball but we need another mauler in the middle of our d line.

I believe he was inactive for a few games early in the season too. He's really come back a long way this year.

Don't know why exactly but I have the feeling he'll play and make a very positive impact.

Cut him. He sucks when he has good ligaments. This off-season Beane will actually have to show how good he actually is when he will have to make decisions about dumping some of the underachievers he has drafted. Top of the list are Singletary, Moss and Phillips.

And I told you so on Singletary the day they drafted him. Go look it up. All you geniuses were so happy he was taken. He sucks too.

LOL at you that are typing he's good and played well against NO. His stat line for that game is 2 tackles (1 solo). No TFL. No sacks. Nada. He was drafted to take Kyle Williams place. Kyle Williams was a disruptive force. Phillips is a fat guy taking up space. There's a big difference.

The heart is willing but the body isnt. Had high hopes he would be the next Kyle.
