    2022 draft

Early yet....how are the wish lists coming ? Thinking OL, RB, DT...LB, CB

C Tyler Linderbaum of Iowa would be nice, if he declares G Kenyon Green of Texas A&M would be better in R1.

    Re: 2022 draft

My two draft priorities are MLB and interior oline.

If I'm running the show, the first two moves I make even prior to the draft is hiring an offensive line coach/run game coordinator, and either trading Edmunds or start working toward moving him to edge.

I haven't dug into much other than watching the games live, but right now I'm targeting Nakobe Dean, Georgia and Devin Lloyd, Utah in the first round.

The biggest thing about this draft is Beane needs to temper his infatuation of metrics and measurables and just draft football players.

I can see Edmunds being a part of a trio of LB's more than I can see him at edge. He's just not reliable in contact and he'd be perpetually tangled in offensive tackles.

Absolutely agree we need football players. I like Green because he thrives on contact, run game or pass protection. Big man at 325.

Great question I have not dove into yet.

It really depends on what our draft position will be.

We should try whatever it takes to get two impact players.

They can be linemen are you listening front office.

    Trade up!!!!

Pre-draft, I'll wait to see who gets cut for Cap relief. They must create some room. FA doesn't look promising.

Needs early are up the middle on D ( DT and ILB ). On O, the OL. CB's and a RB can be found on Day 3.

More importantly, they need some scheme adjustments.
    We don't even have pictures
    Just memories to hold
    That grow sweeter each season
    As we slowly grow old...

    Re: 2022 draft

Get an oline coach that can help Daboll with the run game and RB becomes far less of a priority.

Potential first-round QB Carson Strong enters NFL draft, skipping Nevada’s bowl game

Nevada quarterback Carson Strong, a potential first-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft, has announced that he is turning pro and will skip the upcoming bowl game.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Strong was the offensive player of the year in the Mountain West Conference in both 2020 and 2021. A three-year starter, Strong completed 70 percent of his passes in 2021 and threw 36 touchdown passes with eight interceptions.

I second Linderbaum, posted his name in the Beane thread you made.

The other guy was Nick Petit-Frere T Ohio St.

Either guy I would be fine with in round 1.

I would be ok with C.J. Verdell RB out of Oregon in Round 2.

He's a big back and has catching ability out of the backfield.

    Re: 2022 draft

OT, G, DT, RB, LB, CB

Our priorities are higher at the LOS.

Dawkins has taken a major step backwards from a slightly above average OT to below average. Will Brown sub tomorrow and will he make us not miss Dawkins?

We are all well aware of our deficiencies at both G spots, especially when Williams is needed at OT.

Our lack of stoutness at DT is a major issue. We need size and length there to both stop the run, collapse the pocket and get hands up in throwing lanes.

    Players I'm interested in early:
    OT Trevor Penning
    OT Sean Rhyan
G Kenyon Green (could be long gone)
    G Zion Johnson
    G Thayer Munford
    DT Travis Jones
    DT Haskell Garrett
    CB Ahmad Gardner
    CB Roger McCreary
    CB Kyler Gordon

Just starting to learn who is out there.

I'm not looking at LB until RD 4 unless the value is exceedingly good and there is poor value at higher need positions. Same for RB.

    LB Micah McFadden
    LB Mike Rose
RB ? Just don't know any.

    Ikem Ekwonu*, OT, N.C. State

    Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State

    I'd take either one.

If we take an OT or DE in the first I am going to start seriously questioning if Beane is as good as I think he is.

OG or ILB is the way to go.

Need a beastlike RB as well.

We don't have a position for an ILB. We play 2 OLBs.

Tremaine Edmunds (as well as Dodson and Matekevitch) are listed as "MLB" on the official depth chart.

    Re: 2022 draft

The positions I listed in the OP weren't prioritized.

For R1, I'd like interior OL.

I worry about my wishes vs. McBeane wishes.

I think they don't believe they have an LB issue, and can skimp again on DT and OL, which they'll go bargain shopping for again in FA, as they will with RB.

I figure they'll blame OL and D issues on injuries, with a mindset that "if" everyone is healthy they get different results.
