    Re: Beasley released

It was pretty much inevitable when he started asking for a trade. I think they wanted him to take a pay cut, he didn't want to, so they allowed him to seek a trade before he was released. Of course, the whole thing was an exercise in futility, because every GM in the league knew he was gone and they could just sign him without giving up compensation.

    Re: Beasley released

The least surprising thing to happen this off season.

    I wish Cole well.

He was a huge part in the development of Josh Allen and the resurgence of the Buffalo Bills into a legitimate condenser.

It will be interesting to see who attempt to sign him and for how much.

I doubt it will be anywhere close to the money we was scheduled to get this year form the Bills.

I think there are some teams that know he'd never sign with them that could have benefitted. His contract isn't bad.

He'd be a good addition to Jacksonville for example. And a little cheaper than Kirk for 80% of the production.

    Re: Beasley released

I appreciate everything Cole did. He played hard and had some great years.

It was obvious to me this past year he's declining. Throw in his Covid distraction nonsense (forget his stance, it's his inability to not create a distraction I am referring to), and it was apparent his time was up at that salary level.

Jax will give him $30 Million for 3 seasons, you just watch. Guys he couldn’t get separation anymore & an extra few feet for Josh is like yards for other QB. Gotta get more open.

    Re: Beasley released

Supposedly Buffalo and Caroline discussed Beasley and McCaffrey trade in detail. Of course the Bills quickly found out the throwing pieces are more than they are willing to give up ...

    Re: Beasley released

Performance-wise, he did what he was brought here to do and he helped Josh, so no complaints there.

The only knock on him was the distraction he caused over the vaccine. There's no point in having another debate about the vaccine- no one is going to change anyone else's mind. What it comes down to is this: Beasley wasn't the only NFL player who didn't get the vaccine but he was the only one that didn't STFU about it.

Oh well. He was instrumental in two division championships and playoff runs, so, that's the important thing.

    Re: Beasley released

Gonna miss him. The offense will too.

McKenzie...or whoever...has big shoes to fill from the little man, he was clutch.

If they are going to evolve to hitting guys on the run instead of squatting/creating space in zones they still need to add a running back.
