My Cornerback Big Board

Obviously CB is (at least to us) the biggest need. I've been reading up on them and kind of have a wish list.

25 is a tough spot. I think they are kind of in no man's land between the top 3 and and next grouping. Might have to move up, or be smart to move down a bit.


1. "Sauce" Gardner, Cincy - He's a top 10 pick and not going to be an option for us.

2. Derek Stingley Jr, LSU - He'll be gone too, though his injury history make me nervous anyway.

3. Trent McDuffie, Wash - I love him. Most have him behind Stingley, but I have a few questions on Stingley and it's VERY close. I've seen a few mocks that have him lingering down around 25, but i'd bet he's top 15. I'd consider a move up if he gets past 15 and the price is right.

4. Kaiir Elam, Florida - If the top 3 are gone, this is the one guy i like sitting at 25. I suspect you could move down a few spots (as far as 30) and get him or someone could nab him even before 25.

5. Andrew Booth, Clemson - This guy just makes me nervous. Opinion on him are VERY divided.

Round 2 options:

6. Rodger McCreary, Auburn - Love him at our round 2 pick, but i'd be surprised if he's not top 15 in round 2.

7. Kyler Gordon, Wash - Same as McCreary. Likely top 15 of round 2 but i like him.

8 Tariq Woolen, UTSA - Raw but the physical gifts are there. I can see him going higher than expected.

9 Martin Emerson, Miss St - We are getting into round 3 territory here.

Round 3 options:

10 - Cam Taylor-Britt, Nebraska
11- Coby Bryant, Cincy

I really like Elam a lot either at our current pick, and a realistic shot that he's there.

Bryant is someone I looked at more recently as a 3rd round option and I think he will surprise people. The focus was rightfully on Gardner or i think Bryant would be more highly rated. Could be a 3rd round steal.

I like Mario Goodrich in Rd 3 as well but Taylor-Britt is my favorite. Dude is intense and is good vs WR screens that gave Wallace all sorts of problems.

I did one the other day and took Elam in the 1st and Bryant in the 3rd or 4th.

In other positions...a guy to consider should they finally cut ties with Edmunds and trade him.

Troy Anderson- LB Montana St.

6'3" 240+ lbs, ran a 4.4 at the Combine and had jumping numbers that match most CB's.\

He started as a RB/QB at Montana St. As a running QB he had 21 TD's one year, as well as playing defense.

In 2021, he played MLB primarily and racked up 145+ tackles, a bunch of tackles for loss and a number of passes defended. Ended up as the FCS defensive player of the year and took them to the championship game.

He actually made all conference as both a QB in 2020 and MLB in 2021.

I got him in the 3rd of my mock.

Internet Projections of where players will be picked are so bad most years.

If the GM likes him after watching film and doing his homework on background, he picks him .

We didn't inv McDuffie to Buffalo like we did Elam, so I'd guess the evals were very very close if the Bills not preferring Elam straight up. We also could've traded up for McD but didn't.

We got what we needed so for me I view it as a success.

We spent a 4th but well worth it IF he pans out and I BELIEVE he will.
