I “finally” said this???? Sorry...I’ve said it many, many times.

That is a completely different discussion as it goes to defensive philosophy and scheme of the Bills.

There is ZERO evidence that they are interested in changing from the nickel defense they use right now.

And the rushing yardage they gave up last year was more because of failings on the D-Line than with LB’s.

And that is a large part of why they made more changes to the D-Line than any other position group.

With the extra money draft choices or assets from Edmunds I could find a real MLB, even bring Klein back.
This is why you are not qualified to be a NFL GM.

AJ Klein is not very good and was a liability last year. The Indy game exposed him and showed what happens when Edmunds is not on the field against a good team.

Edmunds on the field with AJ Klein when Milano was injured worked. Milano on the filed with AJ Klein when Edmunds was injured was a debacle.

The Bills are NOT going to trade Edmunds.

    Money talks and bullcrap walks.

The Bills did ALL the talking when they did not hesitate one second in exercising the 5th year option on Edmunds.

No, he’s not worth $20M....and when they sign him to a much deserved extension, it will be for less than that.

Like we just went over above, the Bills do not use a MLB....and no amount of wishing they completely change their defense will mean it will ever happen. The Bills HAVE two extremely capable starting LB's already in Edmunds and Milano. And the Bills have shown ZERO indication of thinking anything otherwise.

This hatred of Edmunds is purely a confused "fan” phenomena and not one NFL expert agrees with the crap that is thrown his way by the haters here.

Poyer is NOT going to go for your idea of extending him for 1 extra year.

Thank GOD that we have a real professional NFL GM running the Bills.

    J. Poyer 64 solo tackles 27 assists 91 tackles 3.0 sacks 5 INTs

    Edmunds 70 solo tackles 38 assists 108 tackles 0.0 sacks 1 INT

Poyer's an impact player, Edmunds can't stop the run.

Milano ranks 11, Edmunds 24. Why haven't they locked Edmunds up? Because he hasn't earned it. But you're dug in telling me I don't know football. Edmunds fails the eye test over and over. If I have to pick one or the other for next year I keeping Poyer because he and Hyde are probably the best tandem in the league. The value you get for Edmunds you can replace him with someone else. I know that may be a bit complicated for you. So you're the short sighted GM.

Re: Jordan Poyer looking for a contract extension in Buffalo

It's purely incorrect to say the Bills do not use an mlb, and ignorant of football to say so. The MLB calls the defensive signals, and in our case is the reaction player required to cover multiple reaction gaps. It's not intelligent to say Edmunds is not the mlb because he doesn't play in the middle of 3 lb's in a 2 lb defense, and again, doesn't recognize purpose or roles in NFL defense.

Edmunds was, again, the worst pass defender as a starter in a pass defense foundation scheme, and he does not make up for it with his run defense skills.

But make no mistake, he is the mlb and has been identified as such by the experts that run the team and the defense, and even described so by the legendary Joe Buscaglia.

I still expect them to make Poyer short term happy without breaking the bank, because in this defense he's not replaceable atm imho, and the next step would be grooming his replacement after getting him, which I don't think we've done yet.

I doubt they will pay Edmunds the 10-18 mil or whatever it may be in a long term contract next year unless he improves dramatically.

I can't see how they do, if they did it would be tragic. I can see him doing better with a better defense in front of him, but I can't see him doing that much better because he's just so reluctant to contact anyone as a linebacker, and I was one of those holding out on him becoming more than what I was seeing. Timer is up. If he wants to be a significant linebacker on a contender with higher goals, this is his last chance to do it. I don't think he has it in him, there's no fire there.

He's casually walking out his career figuring he's ok enough at whatever.

He is, if in the later stage of his career, he's critical to this defense.

You’ll know about all you need to by the end of Friday.

If they go safety early then his days are numbered if they wait then there is a better than likely shot they give him a new deal.

If they trade up for a safety like Hamilton, which has been speculated, then he’s probably part of the package going out.

I think he's a goner. Someone needs to go to relieve pressure on the salary cap. I think Edmunds is on the bubble as well

They may play one last season training their replacements

I doubt Poyer gets a new deal nor will Edmunds next year.

I’d rather they surprise us with a trade up for Hamilton then a new Poyer deal honestly.

Don’t be disappointed. It’s his right to go after as much money as possible and football is a business before anything else.

Part of the ****ing problem, IMHO, is that you're hearing it from his freakin wife...not Jordan himself.

I hope he and the Bills can work something out, because he is a very important 1/11th of a team that plays great team defense.

HOWEVER....consider a couple things, most of which have already been posted.

He will be 32 this fall.

His peers have not voted him to a pro bowl.

    Public COVID opinions.

    Verbally jousting with reporters.

And most importantly...where was he in Arizona? Where was he during the 13 seconds in KC? Where was he in Jacksonville???

I'm not saying he shouldn't get some cap-friendly extension. I'm just saying I wouldn't break the bank to keep him here.

I don’t blame the players with this one play. How the **** do you play this defense scheme with 13 seconds left, 3 timeouts and they only need a FG? This play makes me sick.

Almost every team in the league would call that defense in that situation.

We got out schemed, it happens.
