They can make the playoffs if they get an NHL goalie.

Goalie, vet defenseman and a vet forward that can score and win faceoffs (not named Cody Eakin). But yeah, add a real NHL goaltender and they are on their way.

Quinn and Peterka up from Rochester. A couple more vets. Yet Goalie will be the primary focus.

More development of the current young guys. They still float at times and don't get back on D. Can't take shifts off anymore. Find people who can win faceoffs.

    First half 13/41 wins
    Second half 19/41 wins

    Could 2022-2023 be 25+25? Possibly 100 pts +?

25 point improvement is pretty ambitious. It depends more on the D and Goaltending. Asking a lot.

I think this team is pretty far from being legit Cup contenders.

I think this team is pretty close to being able to make the playoffs. Quinn and Peterka could make a big difference.

Agree that goaltending needs to be an off-season priority. We're barely at the cap floor. Overpay a vet for 2 years and buy some time to figure it out.

Again. Why is this so hard? The notion that you now have to draft a kid with 3 pubes then await Prom to end to get him through college then hopefully sign him and then have him play in Rochester for 2 years…. Then pray.

FFS. Drive through Kitchener or Hamilton and maybe take a few exits toward Toronto. Stop at a quickie mart or Home Depot… there are goalies walking around everywhere. Hold freaking open tryouts for Christ’s sake. ThevIdea that you cannot find a Better answer than Toharski or Dell is absurd.

Canucks are born to stop pucks. They have a defect that causes Vulcanized rubber to stick to them. Uncanny really.

this nurturing and coddling is time consuming. I’m 58.5
by the time a drafted kid plays I’ll be 64. When did this crap start?

They have a ton of cap space. Keep reading Adams say he's not going to make a move for the "short term." There are multiple NHL caliber goalies out there to be had. Either as free agents or simple trades. Go get one. The Craig Anderson story was nice, but him playing many games next year is not a sustainable thing. And, let's face it, UPL looked shaky in the AHL despite what the coach is saying. Package UPL and Mittelstadt and a pick to somebody to get a goaltender. Something like that.

They don't even have to trade those guys. There's plenty of good FA goalies. Throw some money at one of them.

That's a banger of a division at the top of the Atlantic. Tampa, Bos, Tor, Fla. You guys could get everything you want and still have a tough time cracking that top 4. It's a tall order not because the Sabres will be super bad is that those teams are really good. Bos might be the first to slow down though.

Just means you are most likely in WC territory fighting with many teams. Less margin for error.

I don't know that there is. Campbell, Kemper, Holtby, Fleury are the top 4 on a list I have seen. And if you get the Brayden Holtby at 3? There are very few out there worth getting.

And this is where I get my fury for the manufactured point in regular season overtime games. A handful of points is likely going to make the difference in who makes the playoffs and who doesn't, and those points could come from the teams we're competing with earning OT losses.

IMO every game should be worth 3 points. Regulation win is 3 points, regulation loss is 0 points. OT or shootout win is worth 2 points, OT or shootout loss is worth 1 point. Simply getting a team to OT then losing shouldn't count as half a win.

I agree the loser point is lame. I think with more points available, some of the races will be decided sooner and I don't think the league wants that.
