Boom! go the Amerks. While many of us were otherwise distracted by events of this past weekend, the Amerks powered their way into a series lead over Utica. If they win Tuesday night, they advance to the next round. Peterka, Krebs and Rutsolainen amongst others. Great job guy!

I really hope they can at least get a series victory.
Aside from Rochester being my hometown, it'll be good to see some guys who will be Sabres soon get used to winning.

Well it appears the Amerks tried to sleepwalk through 2 periods before pouring it on in the 3rd. They were down 4-0 after two periods and lost 4-2.
Their shots, by period: 6-5-21 = 32.

Game 5 back in Utica on Thursday. Winner advances. Losers go home.

Rochester used a 3 goal third period to eliminate the Utica Comets 4-2.
They face Laval in Round 3. Dates and times TBD.
If you're in Buffalo, make the roadie to Rochester. If not, get AHL TV(or listen to the games on ESPN Rochester(at 950 & 95.7)).

good to see a Rochester win. Wish I could go to the game. I saw the Amerks in Hershey shortly before the pandemic but I haven't seen them in Rochester since probably 1999.

Arttu Ruotsalainen score his 9th playoff goal. Yet rumor has it he may be returning to Europe next year, if he doesn't get a shot at the Sabres roster. Meanwhile, Quinn has vanished.

Still, good run. They won 2 series and took out Utica, who was the best team in the league.

Summary:
1) Explanation as to why we didn't see Samuelsson play for Rochester after being sent down. With the Jack Eichel saga, the Sabres medical staff took a lot of criticism. Nice to see Samuelsson credit them for making good decisions with regards to his injury.
2) Ruotsalainen says rumors he will go to Europe are not true. He wants to be in Buffalo.
3) Jack Quinn had a good season, but a bad last month and play-offs. He expressed frustration at his game, but will work to get better.
4) UPL would have played for Amerks Friday had there been a game. That large body would have, could have turned around the series.
5) Michael Mersch is the Amerks captain. He would have returned Friday also from a concussion. Does it matter? Amerks were 4-1 with him and 1-5 without him in the lineup for the play-offs.
UPL is the walking definition of All-Whirlpool. I hope he mends but is seemingly always hurt. Finding a couple more goalies is priority #1 this off-season.
