Drew Brees opens the door to a return to football

It started with a report that he’s leaving NBC. It escalated into something much more significant.

Following a report from Andrew Marchand of the New York Post that future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees will be leaving NBC, Brees said this on Twitter: “Despite speculation from media about my future this fall, I’m currently undecided. I may work for NBC, I may play football again, I may focus on business and philanthropy, I may train for the pickleball tour, senior golf tour, coach my kids or all of the above. I’ll let you know.”

Ehhh I hope he doesn't come back to play. Coach the kids and enjoy retirement.

NBC wasn't happy with him as an analyst.

Still remember him saying he had to take care of his family with a team crippling contract the one year. He smells 50 million to be made.

If he wants to play, and some team wants to pay him, good luck to them.

I'm dubious. He mentioned Pickleball. Brees could cash in there as well. He is widely known to have no sense of humor. He called me last week to ask if I had any empty cans, and regularly asks me for change outside the local plaza. His greed was more obvious in the winter when he'd get out of his limo to do it. My limo had to park farther off and I had to walk farther to ask for change from people outside Family Dollar with Brees staking out the diner and phone store. He's like that.

He didn't look good his last year. He'll be terrible after a year away. If some team is dumb enough to pay him big bucks I can't fault him but you'd think he has enough money to keep him from wanting to embarrass himself.
