I'm far more disappointed with Moss than any other back we have.

We take the committee approach so it's gonna be tough declaring a bell cow type.

They aren't running until late in the year when the weather dictates they must. Overthrowing the ball and a 7-6 record last year. O was OK but D had zero pressure until Dec.

Then the last 4 games we win with more balance. Singletary gets his yards and 6 TD's in those last 4. Fact. Yet a Henry type is n't wanted here. They want 2-3 guys with different skill sets. Hence Cook.

Now the DL depth and pressure is FAR better.

Not defending it. But it's their choice.

I agree we want to ru n by committee let somebody else pay em the big contract.

Only so much green to go around.

Agreed but i think its more that Singletary would be dumb to resign here

This RB by comity needs to stop. It hasnt worked since mcdermott got here. They tried with ivory and mccoy, they tried to with Gore and Singletary, they tried with moss and singletary. statistically it doesnt look horrible, but it prevents a rb from getting into a rhythm and we see how it plays out on the field. last year i thought they learned late in the season to let him carry the load but this year they reverted back

Give Singletary 15 touches a game bench moss, and let Cook get a few sparingly
Not here to be right, just here to have interesting discussions about my impulsive opinions

We don't place that as a priority so i doubt it will change with our current staff.

Mccafferey imo is better but injury wise, i dont trust him to stay healthy. When healthy i think hes great

Elliot has barely averaged 4 ypc the last 2 years and had 60 more carries than singletary and only had 120 more yds

Regardless, your severely under rating what his production was last year. 188 carries for nearly 900 yds and 7 tds is great.

What im saying is if singletary had higher usage, hed be around the top 10

If you know anything about football youd know that it's extremely difficult for RBs to be consistent when getting so little consistent attempts. So the fact that he had the 22nd amount of carries and was essentially a top 15 RB is remarkable and makes you wonder how good he would be with higher usage
Im done arguing because ive provided a ridiculous ammount of stats to support my argument
Rashad Penny, who you won't put ahead of him, had 749 yards on 119 carries with 7 TDs.

His production is actually better than Singletary in even less carries.

Do your extrapolating of stats theory and he should be the best RB in the league with the logic you're using here to say Singletary is elite or top 10.

Nah. His best attribute is his vision. He can find little seams for extra yards with subtle lateral moves which is why he is an NFL RB while being both undersized and slow.

LOL. Facts? Watch the games, moron. I posted all the facts. You don't pay attention. That is due to your lack of intelligence. Singletary had one run for 16 yards, then the remaining 5 attempts for a total of 3 yards. Moss was the same. Pay attention junior. Now go off and ride your big wheel.

Singletary is a good enough fit for this offense because he does most things pretty well, but nothing I would call elite. He's above average at picking up blitzes, which is probably why he'll continue to get the majority of snaps as long as we are winning. IMO his stats are more a result of scheme and play calls, there are probably 40-50 backs that could post similar numbers when they are getting handed the ball while the defense is sitting back trying to shut down the pass and spying Allen.

With the tweaks to the offense from Dorsey and Kromer he may post better stats but that still won't push him toward 'elite'.
    This.

He's not elite, but we don't need him to be.

Too small....but I like the way he hits the holes.

    No hesitation.

Re: Are we waisting what could be an elite RB?

There are only a handful of RB’s in the NFL that can be considered “elite”.

There are only a handful of teams where Singletary would be the #1 RB. So the idea that he is anywhere close to “elite” is silly.

Whoever above said that Singletary benefits from the scheme was correct. He benefits from the scheme, the quality of the players around him, & the coaching. His talent is midling, at best. Can't wait until he and Moss are gone.
