Granato said the Sabres had 30 scoring chances: LINK. As above, I wondered how good the Sabres would be right now with Hellebuyck as their goaltender. One can dream. The Sabres have a storied history of having good to great goaltending. So this is tough to watch right now.

Tough to say, the last few years we gave up tons of high danger chances and it killed us even with an all world goalie. I do think being tops in offence and the bottom in d is probably a system thing unfortunately. Our high danger scoring chances went down when Maurice left town

FWIW. The Winnipeg Jets are for real. They beat the Sabres 4-2 on Thursday then went to Pittsburgh and beat the hated Penguins 4-1 one night later. Scheifele with 2 goals. That has become a much better team than when Tyler Myers was playing up there.

While off-topic for hockey, it is Winnipeg related. See the "...listening" to thread. RIP Robbie Bachman.

They need to win tonight. They can't have another long losing streak.

A cherry-picking Skinner with a breakaway goal. Well, it was sleezy, but they needed something to break the ice.

    Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread

Nice 5-3 win to break the streak. They still must clean up some sloppy play in their own end (giveaways) but they took it to Nashville most of the game.

Local beat writer Harrington is correct stating the youngest team in the NHL must now learn how not to tense up at home ( 9-11-2 ) and play loose, like they do on the road (12-7-0 ).

Monday is the MLK holiday and a 1pm afternoon game vs. Florida.

Saros is INCREDIBLE. He's a small goalie, so he's just insanely fast.

I've been a fan of his for a while

I don't have too much to add. I thought the Predators looked uncharacteristically listless throughout most of the game. It let the Sabres exercise some demons. Happy they kept coming all game despite some sloppy play at times. I love that Cozens shows up and plays hard every single game. He's a talented kid who contributes, but flies under the radar a lot of times. I like him a lot. I hope they keep him around. Tuch too.

Watch this video of Saros doing butterfly slides. This is nuts.

Cozens is developing into one of the cornerstones. He's not going anywhere.

Another egg against a team they have to beat if they are serious contenders this season.

    Ugh. Just Ugh.

Last Monday 4-0 vs Flyers. (home loss)
This Monday 4-1 vs Panthers. (home loss)

    What gives?

Why does it seem UPL gives up 4 goals every single game he plays?
