OPINION: Sabres end 2022 preseason 4-2-0

The article is subtitled: "Buffalo has work to do in the six days leading up to the regular season"

I'll say. The Sabres will start by going up against a vastly improved Ottawa Senator team that beat them soundly at the end of last season.

Okposo has put in his time as a Sabre, I guess. Not the most awe-inspiring captain, but far, far from the worst they have had. Here's the list:

I think Okposo is in the last year of his deal and it's a kind gesture in what probably is his last season. JMO.

Honestly, I think Dahlin becomes the next captain of the Sabres if Okposo does exit after the season.

Might be of interest, might not: Five Thirty Eight put their NHL predictions in place, and place Buffalo 23rd overall.....6th in the Atlantic...with a -26 goal differential, a projected 83 pts. and a 22% chance of making the playoffs.

    Sounds about right.

Top line is solid. Not Cup contender good, but solid. After that, who knows? There are a lot of unproven players who may or may not be good.

If Power lives up to his potential, the top 4 D are good.

I know I'm setting an incredibly low bar with this statement, but I'll be happy if the Sabres can be in the playoff hunt until mid-March or so. Make most of the season meaningful. It would be nice if we could actually make the playoffs and give the young guys some playoff experience, even if it means getting killed in the first round. I just don't think we are there yet.

    Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread

Elliot Friedman said that he believes Owen Power could have a Cale Makar existence and it's just a matter of time before he's one of the best players in the league. I have to listen to the cast for his exact quote

So did D Mattias Samuelsson....and honestly, at the length and money he signed for, it's a STEAL. It's a 7 year deal worth $30 million.

    Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread

I'm not mad, but all the hype for RJs last season, and now he's back out there doing starting line ups.

Just let the guy go. It reminds me of watching a hacking and coughing Harry Carey in his last years. Just let him go, man.

Anyone know if the changing ads on the boards is something we're only seeing on TV?
