The good thing is this team is not going to be hard to improve. Get a defenseman. Get a goalie.

The Oilers finally have a goaltender, at least. More than can be said for the Sabres.

Bryson and Victor O should not be on this team next year. Other changes will occur but there's 2 spots where others will be playing.

Victor looked like he was becoming a solid 5 on 5 player early in the season but he really cooled off.

The team knows what it needs. It's just not possible to make all those moves necessary with ease.

I get it. This team has serious holes. But, the nature of team upgrading is very conservative unless you want to overpay.

I will say this. The sabres are there. They've arrived. They played even with a team that is one of the better in the whole league. The only difference was S. Skinner was OUTSTANDING last night, and the best player in the world played like the best player in the world.

Guys. We are RIGHT THERE. Adams knows what this team needs. They'll get it right.

He's like a -10 with no goals the last couple weeks and being tossed around on other lines to hide his complete failure on D. Scratching him saves a goal or two.

Oloffson with an extended quiet streak. Even when he's on, he's a one trick pony. And he can see himself getting marginalized with every passing scoreless game. I was a bit surprised that Adams didn't trade him last week.

I really want them to trade him in a package for a D or a G

I don't have a good feeling about tonight. I hope Olofsson finds his scoring touch. Jost too.

Totally dominated in the 3rd period. Not a good night. FL, NYI and PIT all get 2 points.

It was a Jack job on the GWG. Clearly a kick.

But yeah, can’t give up that many shots in the 3rd and expect to win. At one point late in the 2nd, the shots were 18-14 in their favor. Late in the 3rd, it was 37-18. Yikes.

More evidence the sabres just aren't quite there yet.

Get to the draft, get a stud, make a few trades to address holes, and continue the growth and development

    Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread

NHL said not a kicking motion Sabres fans. Get over it. THAT was not the problem. The islanders had 30 blocked shots. Granato not so great. He has these kids waaaaay too tenitive. Here, Paul Hamilton puts forth one of many examples:

This is the first time most of these young players have ever played in an NHL playoff race. They are getting valuable experience, but what they'll learn from this game is the Islanders had 30 blocked shots. The Sabres worried so much about it, they passed up many golden opportunities to shoot.

Late in the game and down a goal, Jacob Bryson came right down the wide-open slot. It was just him and Sorokin, but for some reason that I can’t explain, he tried a cross-ice pass through three Islanders to a covered guy who would’ve had an off-angle shot had he gotten the pass.

Bryson had a Grade-A opportunity. He has to shoot that puck 100-out-of-100 times.

That’s just one example of many.

I was shouting at Bryson through the TV screen when he did that. He's not the only one. They ALL are doing that. Maybe with the exception of Cozens & Thompson.

I don’t care what the NHL said. I saw the replay a dozen times and it’s clearly a kicking motion. But, like I said, they didn’t play well enough tho won that game anyway.

LOL. You're wrong. It has to be intentionally kicked into the net. That was not intentional.

looked pretty damn intentional to me. Also, if that's the rule, it's a stupid rule. There was a clear kicking motion. There's no way for an official to know what a player's intent for that kicking motion was.

    Maybe next year.

A couple of complimentary pieces in FA this year and see if the kids take another step.
