This team was a complete tease. Playing awful hockey when it matters most.

No play-offs again. What an embarrassment.

Thompson hasn't been right for awhile now.

    Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread

Everyone criticized Lindy Ruff for the defensive style of play he coached. Granato lets the young kids run wild. They have very little defensive awareness. They hung Anderson out to dry repeatedly last night. Tippett with a hat trick? Really? Granato should be ashamed at that. I've grown tired of giving him a pass just because he is better than Ralph Krueger and supposedly good with the kids. I say he's not that good with the kids. I watched the 3rd period last night thinking that Tortorella would have gotten a lot more out of this Sabres squad than Granato has. Look at what Tortorella has done with the garbage he has in Philadelphia. Pegula could have signed him as a coach. He's not the greatest choice, no, I'm not saying that. But he is getting more out of less in Philadephia.

    Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread

Maybe it's time to stop giving Granato a pass. They (Adams & Granato) get one more season. Levi is here now. We'll see how he does. But he would have done exactly the same as Anderson last night fending off 3 on 1's. Adams has to supply some rugged, defensive defenseman to offset Dahlin. It's time for Power to grow up. The kid line (Peterka/Cozens/Quinn) should be line #3, not line #2. Build a scoring line #2. Time for Okposo and Girgensons to go. Like them both, but they have to go. Olofsson is going to have 30 goals at season's end. But he goes long stretches with no contribution. They have to decide what they are going to do there.

    Skinner - Thompson - Tuch
    Peterka - Cozens - Quinn
    Jost - Mittelstadt - Olofsson
    Greenway - Krebs - Kulich

Next season may look something like this up front. Although I'm not sure Krebs is the right guy for a 4th line center, it's where they're using him now. And maybe flip Greenway & Jost. Something like that. Outside of Oloffson, any trade bait in this group? Krebs?

Regarding Olofsson, look at his assists this season and his +/- over the last 3 seasons:

The amount of ****ing odd man rushes piss me off. That's just recklessness and/or laziness. I'm souring on Granato too. It seems to be ok with him.

I'd try and trade him. If they can't then let him play out the last year of his contract then let him walk.

OMG. UPL sucks ass. Get him as far away from Buffalo as possible. Bruins 3-0 in first.

Bruins first goal in 15 seconds. On the ice were Jokiharju/Power/Girgensons/Okposo/Krebs. All blew along with UPL.

Granato should be teaching better. Ruff, and many, many others, teach to avoid that.

Agree that maybe it's time to parlay Victor into assets while they can.

Swayman so much better, today, than UPL. That should never get said. On any day. But it's true. He just robbed Quinn point blank. He actually came out to the shooter. UPL floats backwards into the net.

Moving backwards is a sign you are fighting the puck, or the dude is a heck of a shooter..

When I move backwards on a shot, it's because I'm not confident of my twitch reflexes that day, or the guy can shoot 100 mph and I need to give myself another split second to react

Of the Sabres D, I'd keep the obvious 3. The rest of them can go. Preferably for bags of pucks.

This team needs to start drafting what I call "bastards": skill players who play with a chip on their shoulder and are willing to inflict it on opponents.

Olofsson's not the ONLY one I'd parlay into assets. My list is a bit longer than that.

I'd also advocate bringing Brandon Biro up...if not now, then DEFINITELY for next season(if Okposo doesn't return). He's improved his play from all reports, and that includes on the penalty kill(which Buffalo REALLY needs); Biro currently leads the Amerks in scoring(when it comes to points).

Biro would be a fine bottom 6 winger.

7-0? ****ing a. My parents are moving closer to us and we were at their house helping them pack. So glad I didn’t get to watch this cluster****.

Just 10 days ago they had the 10-4 loss and now this. WTF?
