Seeing a lot of sources say the Sabres are eliminated so I'm not understanding something.
They are 4 points behind the NYI with 2 games left. The 2 teams above don't play each other. The Sabres would have more wins if they win both remaining games and the Isles lose. The Sabres are 2-1 vs the Isles this season. How do we not own the tiebreaker?
Wins in regulation is the tiebreaker. Not total wins.
Gotcha. But points count in OT losses. What a weird system.
But, there is some good news: the playoffs are Ovechkin- and Crosby-free.
