    Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread

UPL blows another game for the Sabres. Lets in his 4 goals and everything in the shootout, again. Capitals made a fool out of him on two shots in overtime. Just the worst goaltending I've ever seen. PLEASE send him away.

      Shoulda been 2 points!

Former President Donald Trump early Thursday touted the results of a new NPR/PBSNewsHour/Marist poll showing him ahead of President Joe Biden by 8 percentage points among independents.

This is what they have been doing all year.

They still cannot close out games in the 3rd with a lead.

            Re: 2022-2023 Sabres Thread

That's what has me a little worried going forward. They haven't gotten any better playing with a 3rd period lead. There's been no improvement in the stupid amount of odd man rushes they give up game after game. An NHL quality goalie will help a lot but it won't solve everything. Is what Granato coaching not working or the players just not executing? Or are they just not good enough on D? I already know the answer to that but they still should not be giving up so many 2 and 3 on 1's. I hope this is just a talent problem and not a coaching problem.

I swear to Allah. If they run it back because "they're close!" I'm gonna be very disappointed.

Get some solid D. Get some better bottom 6 forwards.

And for the love of God, upgrade the inevitable UPL/ Comrie tandem

Who, though? Who can we get at G without hosing the cap and/or selling off the young core that is actually playing pretty well?

An upgrade from Comrie, who I had high hopes for, shouldn't be hard. The question is is the upgrade enough.

I would target someone like Semyon Varlamov, who is older but still a good goalie. That way, he doesn't block Levi. Because expecting Levi to play next year and have a major role is a recipe for disaster.

But I totally expect the Sabres to expect UPL to take another step and lean into him.

Yup. Going to be joining the Sabres immediately and burning his first year

It was the only way, or he would have walked.

Such is the danger with drafting college athletes now. Unless they come out right away, they earn leverage.

It's a loophole that should be closed. But I don't blame athletes like Levi for exploiting it

The Sabres also had to max out bonuses and such to get him as well

Does he have to play 10 games like a skater to get a season under his belt?
