I like measuring stick games against more talented rosters. It brings out the best in some and exposes our shortcomings that need to be improved upon. Yes, it was unfortunate what Skinner did at the end but he was slashed hard and overreacted. Still told me a lot of our team.

Anderson gave up a bad goal and I'm guessing our GM can see that aspect of the team needs to improve, in addition to faceoff % and effort in the corners. It's still a tall mountain to climb from the bottom and little question this team was at the bottom a short time ago. Super young for the most part and I still can see 3-4 roster spots needing replacements, in addition to Goalie. Then we can get serious about playoff dreams. Still bullish.

Ironically, the best UFA goalie on the market next off-season is Jarry. I'd really like to see Buffalo take a run at him. He would solidify that position well

Not surprised. He went ape. I know he got slashed but he could have saved revenge for tonight when the refs weren't watching. And a cross check to the face is never called for.

And Auston Matthews got less for what he did to Dahlin. Not to mention he WHINED about the length of it afterward to the media. And earlier this season, someone only got 1 game for, basically, whacking someone on the back of the neck with his stick.

Did Skinner deserve to get punished? Yes. That said, consistency is what we're asking for. Until then, the Department of Player Safety will be looked at as a JOKE.

The Sabres actually had a ton of good chances last night. Just couldn't convert, which is what separates contenders from pretenders.

UPL looked bad on those 2 early goals and played better the rest of the way. Yet they were already in a hole and pressing without composure.
