That would suck. Carolina is good and they are going to be tough to beat even with him.


And FWIW, I just went to the standings to see how many points the Sabres have. Out of habit, I immediately looked toward the bottom and was confused for a second when they weren't there. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Sabres were not there and are instead in the middle of the pack.

Two things:

1. It should be noted that they're going to be on the back end of back to back games(they're playing Los Angeles at home tonight(Tuesday). So there IS the possibility that we catch the 'Canes napping.

2. I check the standings regularly. To be doing this well, this late in the season, is a happy bonus. 4th in the Atlantic, 1 point out of a wild card spot, 9th in the conference and 18th overall as of now. Honestly, who could have predicted these results at this point? (Hell, The Hockey News pegged us at 7th in the division!)

A few things. They looked flat. And Carolina looks legit.

It showed that while the Sabres are trending upward, a ton of work is left.

I hope KA is working the phones for long term solutions to max the window opportunity. Tons of pieces are here, but not necessarily the right ones in certain spots

Gave up too many shots and get hemmed in their own end at the end of the 1st. Still, a 2-0 lead after 1 at home is a good thing.
