Without TJ Watt their defense is a totally different thing. They scare no one.
They won in OT in the first game of the year against Cincy. The first two paragraphs in the AP write up for the game tells it all....
The Pittsburgh Steelers defense began the season Sunday looking like a vulturous force, and reigning Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt was the chief disruptor.
Then Watt walked off injured in the fourth quarter, his left arm hanging limply at this side, casting serious doubt on when Pittsburgh might look so fearsome again.
Then they went and lost to toothless NE, Cleveland and NY Jets. Not exactly the gauntlet of tough teams.
Pickett will be much more exciting than Trubisky (bless his heart) and may even make the game a little bit closer than the spread predicts.
But, in the end, the Bills will win this game quite easily. If they don’t, it is problem.
Edmunds and Knox looks to be out
#Bills on field but not practicing during open to media portion today: Jordan Poyer (ribs), Tremaine Edmunds (hamstring), Dawson Knox (foot/hamstring), Christian Benford (hand), and Xavier Rhodes (hamstring).

Gilliam can play TE in a pinch.
We are thin at TE.
Geesh.. I can't wait for some of these guys to fall off of this list. Pretty soon they're going to have to either use a font size of 4 or "page 1 of 2".

As of Thursday evening, Pittsburgh has not posted their daily injury list. I thought it was a league mandate that injury lists were posted after the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday practices. What gives here, Pittsburgh?
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.
I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.
Everyone except Witherspoon practiced.
#Steelers injury report gets even longer.

I would think a couple of you would have learned a little bit of a lesson after being so confident about going into Miami and blowing out the Dolphins.

This game is the perfect opportunity to rest some of the hobbling, and give some players further down the depth chart some playing time. While also starting to bring along some that have been out for a game or more.
Calling Poyer and Knox “out” is smart (although unexpected). Waiting until Friday to do so was probably an indication that they were not so seriously injured that it was obvious they could not play Sunday. No need to push them to play.
Edmunds should not play either, after not practicing on Friday, which will also give either Dodson and/or Bernard some playing time. It will be interesting to see who stats opposite Milano. A hamstring injury needs rest. Better to keep him out of this game to get ready for KC.
This is an excellent chance for a whole week of rest for three of the Bills key starters, Knox, Player and Edmunds, before the huge KC game
Ed Oliver should start to remap up in playing time, not too quickly with limited snaps, again, to be in better shape to play against KC. He has been practicing regularly, but game time is a different thing altogether.
Same with Phillips. Better to ramp him up slowly (with snaps) to test out the hamstring. He will be key (along with Oliver) in providing inside pressure against Mahomes.
Gabe Davis was not himself against Baltimore. And with McKenzie still recovering from a concussion, this game may be a great opportunity to give both some in-game rest....limiting their snap count (Gabe Davis had 97% of the offensive snaps in Baltimore) and giving the youngsters some valuable game time.
With Crowder a good candidate for injured reserve, opening up a roster spot, it’s a perfect time to move Hodgins onto the game day roster.
I expect to see a LOT of Shakir this week. He can also show if he’s reliable for punt return duty. Hodgins should get his chance to shine as well.
Going to be interesting to see the snaps count for WR’s after this game. Pittsburgh’s 21st ranked pass defense and Bill #2 ranked passing offense should give all the WR’s opportunities.
