We need great goalie play to continue & man we will roll.
I don't know if you're going to get one at the moment.
In order to trade for one, you're likely going to have to spend a lot in assets. The UFA market in goalies next off-season is pathetic.
One route I would try is to take on someone like Elvis Merzlikens, who is having a horrible season, with a horrible contract.
Here's why. He's been good in the past, and the sabres can afford him. You'd also be doing Columbus a favor, so you could get an asset as well.
If he finds his game, great! If not, you got that asset
UPL is here & has been money, I can’t see us trading for a goalie. Defenseman & another 2nd line center or better, yeah.
UPL has a really shaky track history. I'd love for the answer to be right under our nose, but the sabres can't rely on UPL to hit if they want to move forward next year. Because if he falls flat, it's a wasted year and KA sat and did nothing.
Get your goalie, use UPL as a backup and if UPL steals the starting role, fine
Agreed, this is a better way. I’m kinda hoping in my theory. I was also hoping for Tage to be great, so there’s that. We gave him $7M per, he’s a F-n steal now & will challenge for the points total.
