    Bills cut Marquez Stevenson

The Bills waived receiver Marquez Stevenson on Tuesday, the team announced.

The Bills waived receiver Marquez Stevenson on Tuesday, the team announced.

Stevenson underwent foot surgery in training camp.

The Bills made Stevenson a sixth-round pick in 2021, but he began his rookie season on injured reserve, too. He ended up playing five games last season and returned 14 punts and seven kickoffs.

Stephenson will be our new Dean Marlowe. Hell get cut and signed throughout the season for a couple years, then a bad team will sign him and well move on to another guy

This is infuriating. They could’ve kept Hodgins all along.

It's not that the Bills have lost interest in Stevenson. They just don't think he's going to make a meaningful contribution to the roster right now, so there is not really room for him on the 53 man roster. I think the Bills felt that there is a chance Stevenson would make it through waivers and they could sign him to the PS. It's not as if Stevenson is the only fringe WR lurking around the league with a little speed. The Giants don't have a lot of speed. There are a couple sub 4.4 WRs on their active roster, but I don't think Stevenson is so compelling the Giants are going to drop one of their 6 WRs on the active who know the Giants' offensive system for an unproven Stevenson, who would need time to learn the offensive system, with five weeks left in the season. It just doesn't make a lot of sense.

BTW Hodgins is the starting slot receiver for the Giants, and one of their reserves, David Sills, used to be a Bill.

I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

JMO but they screwed up with Hodgins and Daboll was only too happy to take advantage of it.

It looks like they think that Smoke Brown brings more to the table than Stevenson at this point.

I’ve been saying Hodgins is going to be a stud since we drafted him.

Bet he is signed right back to the PS.

The only reason that Hodgins is their stating slot receiver is because they have three WR on IR and Golladay has spent most of the season injured and has not started one game.

He's supposed to be their #1 WR but has only 4 receptions on 10 targets for 51 yards.

The Giants have one of the if not THE worst WR groups in the NFL.

Hodgins never stuck with the Bills because he was never good enough to crack the into top six. With the Giants dismal collection of uninspiring WR's of course he has a chance.
