Here's what I would do, if I'm Beane and company, contract wise this offseason

1.) Restructure Josh. Saves 21 million

2.) Restructure Tre. Saves 5 million

3.) Restructure Diggs. Saves 5 million

4.) Restructure Morse (if he doesn't retire)-- Savings of 3 million.

According to Sportac, this would put the Bills at 17.5 million in space for next year. You could still restructure Milano, Dawkins, Taron, and free up another 10 million.

Cutting Hynes saves almost 5 million.

They could, if they really wanted/needed to, get to $30+ million in space.

It's not AS bad as we think, BUT, this just passes the buck down the line, and eventually there will be no cap space, unless it goes up astronomically in a few years.

They have 36 players under contract for 2023 and are 5 million over the cap already. So yes something has to be done.

I'm being realistic. You saw the gap between us and Cincy on Sunday. We are not even close to competing with them. And we're $5 mil over the cap with only 36 players signed. Even if we make all those moves you mentioned and free up $30 million, that's not a lot to sign 11 guys AND somehow close that gap.

Honestly, this place is unbearable. You make every thread about you and how right you are.

I said nothing about me and merely stated facts that other people brought to the thread. If you don't want to accept the reality of the situation, there's nothing I can do about it. But this board exists to discuss the team. There is a HUGE gap between us and Cincy, as was evident in the limited action in the first meeting before Hamlin got hurt, and painfully obvious on Sunday. We are $5 million over the cap with only 36 guys signed, so the opportunities to close that gap are extremely limited. Even if we make those roster moves and get to $30 mil in cap space, that's not a lot to sign 11 guys and somehow close the gap.

I don't know why you think that's about me. I don't know why you don't see how bad that situation is. But whatever man... blame me and ignore reality. Par for the course around here.

To be fair - Cincy hit the lotto (credit to them) for getting Burrow, Chase, and a few other playmakers still on their rookie deals. Their time to pay their mortgages is coming very soon.

Yes, our window is now tighter, but the team needs a new direction and a roster / coaching makeover. Unless the Bills are status quo next year, they are every bit in contention as long as we have Josh Allen.

The Bengals are favored to beat the Chiefs in KC. (Mahomes ankle)

The Bengals lucked out against Baltimore. (98 yard TD by the defense)

It's all about matchups and availability.

With a healthy Hyde, White, Jones, Phillips and Miller we smoke the Bengals.

There is not a huge gap.
    33 - Coleman - WR
    60 - Bishop - Safety
    95 - Carter - DT

Correct. They had a lot of outside motivation for that game, real or not. They used the fact that the league had us and KC buying tickets to the championship game, they were at one point I think 6 point dogs, all the talking heads were saying they had very little chance to win because of their O-line injuries, some said Bills blowout, they were playing at Hallmark and BTW they felt disrespected as the reigning AFC Champions!

    Lot’s of motivation for sure!

You saw what Cincy did to us with Poyer and Edmunds. Poyer is old but still playing at a high level. Edmunds- yes, he's overrated but we don't have anyone equal or better and it'll cost a huge chunk of cap we don't have to find someone equal or better.

I’ve been saying Edmunds was a liability since last year, especially in the run defense. He’s on the list along with Poyer and that’s why I said there isn’t any big loss.

And we've been dealing with tons of injuries all year. Injuries are part of the game and expecting to be healthy is just not realistic.

They were both liabilities in that game and part of that is Frazier.

OK. It's still going to take cap space we don't have to replace him.
