Getting into a bidding war with three other teams is risky. Now that Edmunds is gone, leaving a huge hole in the Bills defense, Wagner could fill it rather nicely, but very short term.
With Poyer now coming back (will be very interesting to see how much the two year deal is worth) and still glaring needs at WR and RB and on the O-line, Wagner would have to accept a below market deal (as compared to the other teams competing for his services).
We’ll see soon enough how Beane’s agenda is. It’s anybody's guess at this point.
