Orlando Brown, Jr. joins the Bengals

Orlando Brown, Jr. joins the Bengals - ProFootballTalk

The Bengals have had Kansas City’s number in recent years, with the exception of this year’s AFC Champions. Now, Cincinnati has one of the Chiefs’ better players.

Tackle Orlando Brown has agreed to term with the Bengals, per multiple reports that were confirmed by his agent.

It’s being characterized as a four-year, $64 million deal. That’s $16 million per year on average, well short of the top of the market for left or right tackles.
The structure will be interesting, but it looks like a good deal for the Bengals. The question now becomes whether he’ll be playing the left side or the right side.

“I’m super thankful for the opportunity to carry on my father’s legacy and be a left tackle,” Brown told Mike Garafolo of NFL Media. It was important to be able to play that position and play for a winning team and a winning quarterback. Who Dey!”
Brown was among the last of the top big-name free agents to land a deal. Many teams viewed Brown as a better right tackle, something he wasn’t willing to do.
So, Jonah Williams, a first-round pick in 2019 who started 16 games at left tackle last season, is expected to move to right tackle.

    And he's playing LT.

I'd call that a reasonable contract for damn sure.

Chiefs fans were happy to see him go. And I can see him mailing it in now that he has the long-term big money deal.

Seems like Brown misjudged his value and the free agency market considering he turned down a 6 year $139 mil extension offer from the Chiefs last offseason and instead played under the franchise tag.

Brown is better as a RT than LT. His 4 sacks allowed and 73.3 rating last year is above average but barely. But at that salary he has to play LT.

He shoulda grabbed that $139 million and ran.

RT would be the best fit ..... however in order to get him to sign he insisted on the LT spot so there it is.

Maybe he wanted out of KC for some reason?
