Jim Kelly says that Josh Allen could benefit from a “star RB”.

A Star RB that has blocking ability is what I'd hope for.

No more free path to QB.

Loud me up with as many quality OL has possible.

Need a RB who is a great runner, receiver and blocker. How many of them are there?

    Not many.

    Bijan Robinson is one.

Theoretically. I remember that many thought CEH was as well. I'm not prepared to spend a 1st rounder to find out the hard way.

NFL professionals disagree with you. The Athletic posted a mock draft that contained coaches (and scouts) analysis of each first round pick they mocked.

Bijan Robinson was mocked to go in the top 10....to Philly...

    The Coaching Intel

“Oh my goodness. That kid is unbelievable. Has great vision. Size. Power. He will block. I can’t say enough great things about him. He should’ve left three years ago. He’s so big and strong. He’s going to be an incredible NFL player.”

“His stop-start is pretty special. It’s something you might see in a smaller back, but he’s got that mass and he can run through you. He is impressive. Really good receiver. He’s a bad matchup for a linebacker.”

“He’s so compact! Has patience and great change of direction and change of speed. When the ball is in hands he is elite. Their O-line looked the part, but they weren’t very good in front of him. They were young and so inexperienced. Movement would hurt ‘em. He is great though.”

“I think he was the best player in college football. Watch him. I get why NFL teams aren’t picking a running back in the top five, but man, he’s physical. He has good long speed and is selfless. They used him to block on the perimeter and pass protection and he’s an elite route-runner. He is elite elite.”
It would be a miracle if Robinson is there for the Bills at #27. He is going to be as much a sure thing as is possible, and one team is going to be very happy and blessed to get him.

If by chance a miracle does take place, the Bills would be foolish to not seriously consider taking him at #27.

I know that YOU are not “prepared to spend a 1st rounder” on him, and thank God you do not make that decision.

Comparing Bijan Robinson to CEH is like comparing Kyle Trask to Trevor Lawrence. Or better yet, Saquon Barkley to Rashad Penny.

I've seen that description for many RBs coming out over the 3+ decades I've been watching football. The last time was...Barkley who I guess you compared to Kyle Trask (because Rashad Penny hasn't rushed for more than 749 yards in a season because he can't stay healthy). And a RB is dependent on his OL. I'd focus on that first because a better OL also helps Josh.

Robinson will be gone by 27 IMO.

    Strengthen the OL first.

If he is there by some weird set of events then I'm sure we'd consider him.

I’m very positive on the Harris signing. I think he’s just what we needed.

What do you think about Darnell Washington (the TE—multiple Darnell’s out there). Sometimes described as like having an an extra tackle and definitely a huge red Zone threat. I like him in the first—won’t last to our pick int he second.

I’m not talking about or in any way value what “description for many RBs coming out over the 3+ decades I've been watching football”

    Totally irrelevant.

WHAT IS relevant is how an individual player is judged in relation to others in that draft year, and what expected position he may be drafted.

Your example of Clyde Edwards-Helaire is a poor one because NO ONE expected him (or thought he was worth) a first-round pick.

I was curious and did some research. In the final mock drafts of 2020 of five well known publications and professional NFL analysts, NONE of them had Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the first round.

Interestingly, one of them had the Chiefs picking a RB at #32, but it was for Jonathan Taylor, not CEH. Another had them picking D'Andre Swift.

Both would have been slam dunk grand slam picks and much, MUCH better than CEH.

Two of the mocks had no RB in the 1st round. The other that had another team besides the Chiefs, also had D'Andre Swift, at #26 to Miami.

Mel Kiper’s “Final top 300 position rankings, Big Board” ranked CEH at #46, and only the FOURTH ranked RB.

CEH was widely seen as a day two prospect at best. Just because KC made a bad choice (taking CEH the first RB off the board, leaving much better prospects Jonathan Taylor, D'Andre Swift, Cam Akers and even J.K. Robbins) does not mean that the expectation of Bijan Robinson’s extraordinary skill set is in any way incorrect.

Additionally, the RB’s drafted in the first round the past 10 years have a much lower “bust” rate than QB’s.

    Najee Harris - #24
    Travis Etienne - #25
    CEH - #32
    Josh Jacobs - #24
    Saquon Barkley - #2
    Rashad Penny - #27
    Sony Michel - #31
    Leonard Fournette - #4
    Christian McCaffrey - #8
    Ezekiel Elliot - #4
    Todd Gurley - #20
    Melvin Gordon - #15

The list of QB’s taken in the first round that are busts is long….and almost always high picks….

    Zach Wilson - #2
    Dwayne Haskins - #15
    Baker Mayfield - #1
    Sam Darnold - #2
    Josh Rosen - #10
    Mitch Trubisky - #2
    Carson Wentz - #2
    Paxton Lynch - #26
    Jameis Winston - #1
    Marcus Mariota - #2
    Blake Bortles - #3
    Johnny Manziel - #22
    Teddy Bridgewater - #32
    EJ Manuel - #16

Those RB’s drafted in the top half of the first round have a “bust rate” of ZERO, unlike QB’s which is pretty close to 50%

Bijan Robinson is ranked the #1 RB and within the top 10 of ALL players by every well respected analyst….

    Scouting Inc - #6 overall.
    Mel Kiper’s Big Board - #9 overall
    Todd McShay’s top 32 prospects - #6 overall
Sporting News Big Board - #6 overall
    Daniel Jeremiah’s top 50 - #3 overall
CBS Sports Ranking - #7 overall
Pro Football Network Big Board - #6 overall
Fox Sports 100 best available players - #5 overall
The Athletic Big Board - #7 overall

They are all saying the same thing. Listen to them!!!

The NY Times published a fascinating analysis that found “When Draft Pundits are right, and NFL teams are wrong….An analysis shows that teams usually misfire when they ignore analysts and make a surprise pick early in the first round

Ignoring literally ALL the analysts in the unique value of Bijan Robinson is a BIG mistake.

I very much doubt NFL teams are going to make that mistake and allow him to fall to #27.

If they DO, by some miracle, the Bills would be foolish to not seriously consider taking him.

He is going to be a superstar in the NFL.

    Book it!!

I really like the 2nd clip where he blocked Derwin James and when Wilson ran outside, he had the awareness to prepare himself for a dump off pass
