NFL professionals disagree with you. The Athletic posted a mock draft that contained coaches (and scouts) analysis of each first round pick they mocked.

The last time was...Barkley who I guess you compared to Kyle Trask (because Rashad Penny hasn't rushed for more than 749 yards in a season because he can't stay healthy). And a RB is dependent on his OL. I'd focus on that first because a better OL also helps Josh.

What do you think about Darnell Washington (the TE—multiple Darnell’s out there). Sometimes described as like having an an extra tackle and definitely a huge red Zone threat. I like him in the first—won’t last to our pick int he second.

Totally irrelevant.

WHAT IS relevant is how an individual player is judged in relation to others in that draft year, and what expected position he may be drafted.

Your example of Clyde Edwards-Helaire is a poor one because NO ONE expected him (or thought he was worth) a first-round pick.

I was curious and did some research. In the final mock drafts of 2020 of five well known publications and professional NFL analysts, NONE of them had Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the first round.

Interestingly, one of them had the Chiefs picking a RB at #32, but it was for Jonathan Taylor, not CEH. Another had them picking D'Andre Swift.

Both would have been slam dunk grand slam picks and much, MUCH better than CEH.

Two of the mocks had no RB in the 1st round. The other that had another team besides the Chiefs, also had D'Andre Swift, at #26 to Miami.

Mel Kiper’s “Final top 300 position rankings, Big Board” ranked CEH at #46, and only the FOURTH ranked RB.

CEH was widely seen as a day two prospect at best. Just because KC made a bad choice (taking CEH the first RB off the board, leaving much better prospects Jonathan Taylor, D'Andre Swift, Cam Akers and even J.K. Robbins) does not mean that the expectation of Bijan Robinson’s extraordinary skill set is in any way incorrect.

Additionally, the RB’s drafted in the first round the past 10 years have a much lower “bust” rate than QB’s.

The NY Times published a fascinating analysis that found “When Draft Pundits are right, and NFL teams are wrong….An analysis shows that teams usually misfire when they ignore analysts and make a surprise pick early in the first round”

Ignoring literally ALL the analysts in the unique value of Bijan Robinson is a BIG mistake.

I very much doubt NFL teams are going to make that mistake and allow him to fall to #27.

If they DO, by some miracle, the Bills would be foolish to not seriously consider taking him.
