Re: You be The Beane-Round 2

After hitting a homerun by drafting edge rusher Nolan Smith in round 1, I'm going back to the DL because I can't pass up the incredible value I'm getting with DT Mazi Smith. I love his size, power, versatility, and I have to be mindful of the fact that all of the Bills DTs are currently in the final year of their contracts.

I was really tempted to take WR Marvin Mims, but I like the depth at WR in this draft.

I also considered OL Joe Tippman and Cody Mauch(I think Mauch will be an IOL in the NFL), but I'm content with our starting OL and they're all under contract for the next two seasons.

Ultimately, I like the value of Mazi Smith over any of these other players and I don't think there will be other DTs I like later. Couple that with the desire to build the trenches and the uncertainty of the future at DT, and this is an easy pick for me.

If they took Campbell.. I take Avila...if they took anyone else...I take Pappoe. He's an mlb who excels in coverage is smart and might at least build up against the rush. Avila is a rock solid interior ol with center potental who will only get better with pro training.

I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

Avila. But McDonald is tempting. Avila and Wright immediately improve the OL for years, without the band aids.

But I doubt Wright will be there at 27.

Re: You be The Beane-Round 2

I took Schmitz in round one.

    I'll take Mauch here.

Schmitz can play any interior position.

Mauch can play G or T.

I'm holding out for Jaquelin Roy hoping he's still there in Rd 3.

Not sure where our MLB is going to come from, now.

I have a feeling a huge trade is going to be in the works to fill our MLB need.

Re: You be The Beane-Round 2

I took Jones in Round 1, so I’m going Mauch in Round 2. Whoever looks better at OT sticks, the other moves inside. Leaves only two holes on the OL. The other OG and our next OC.

Re: You be The Beane-Round 2

I took WR Zay Flowers in round one.

I believe the choices presented are not all-inclusive.

The is a very good chance that Jack Campbell will be a day two pick, although the Bills would probably have to move up to get him.

That’s the option I would explore if I’m Beane in round two.

If the Bills do not pick a WR in round one, then I would take WR Marvin Mims in round two.

They aren't supposed to be all inclusive...too many variables. I just realuzed I over thought it.

I'm at Campbell r1....Avila r2...choices being stated...because I'm the Beane with those choices.

Of course there are "too many variables” present to have an all inclusive choice list.

I believe that leaving Jack Campbell OFF the choices available for 2nd round is way off base. The reality is that Beane has made 31 trades involving draft picks....and I want to reserve the right (as Beane for a day) to make a trade.

I believe he will not be a first round pick. The value is just not there. Especially for the Bills with the choices provided in the round one exercise that yardie told us to "Remember who you picked at #27. WR is more important than LB with the expectation that a much better first round value with Zay Flowers being there where Campbell at #27 would be a reach.

Will Campbell fall to #59?? Probably not. Which is why I would go after him by trading up. Very possible that he is there at, let’s say #45 or so. The Bills could trade their 2024 3rd round pick (they will most likely have TWO 3rd round picks) or if necessary the 2023 3rd rounder (this
value chart has it being fair value) to move from #59 to #45 or even #44.

I’m at Zay Flowers in round #1 and moving up to get Campbell in round #2 because I'M the Beane with those choices.

The exercise specifically states who is available at #59.

This particular draft had Campbell going #43...Sanders #49...Simpson at #57.

And the premise of the exercise is you are in the GM's chair at a specific point in time, under specific circumstances.

If you want to trade anywhere it takes two, and you not only have to 'be' two GM's, you would almost have to be all of them.

He won't comprehend it. Shrug. You can't have a happy easter unless he approves...and you can't have an opinion he's unable to process or remember someone fondly unless he's good with it. Don't even bother.

    So what?!?!

All that means is that it is an exercise that is devoid of ANY meaning. Not even for entertainment purposes because it is so far outside the realm of reality.

Multiple trades happen in every round of the draft. And the list of choices that you may think might be available at #59 has literally zero value.

Plus the fact that this is the first time you have mentioned "This particular draft had Campbell going #43...Sanders #49...Simpson at #57.”

    What “particular draft”?!?!?!

It’s you and Mace that can’t comprehend how dumb this “exercise” is.
