That was a stinky game last night. More about the strength of a well-rounded Penguins team with the addition of Karlsson. Karlsson, Letang, Crosby and Malkin all played well. And like Benson with the Sabres, Drew O'Connor has looked like a player on the come for the Penguins. But with the addition of Benson and improved play of Peterka, it looks like the Sabres will roll 3 solid lines this year. They still have 10 defensemen on the roster. Bryson is likely to stay; the other 3 will likely go through waivers....and if they clear, they'll be with the Amerks.

Per the Sabres: Pending waiver clearance, Clague and Stillman(as well as Brandon Biro)have been assigned to the Amerks. Likewise, Ryan Johnson and Lukas Rousek are heading to Rochester.
Biro, Clague and Stillman have cleared waivers and are with the Amerks. Lance Lysowski of the News notes that potentially, Rochester could also get for their D corps Ethan Prow, Nikita Novikov and Zach Mehta(among others).

5-1 loss, ouch. The Sabres need to lose Jost.
what a lame performance that was.
Gross start to the season. Stats look bad for Levi but maybe 1 of the 4 goals were his fault. Joker played puck and not man on the first one. S/T was pathetic and the amount of blocked shots was just disgusting.
Sabres looked bad, like they did in Columbus. Had to look hard to see if Tage Thompson was even playing. Finally they gave a shot of him on the bench badly out of breath. Tuch also invisible. Laviolette had the Rangers playing great. Sabres couldn't figure out their 1-3-1. We saw them have trouble getting the puck into the offensive zone against some teams last season, and again last night. When teams line their blueline with 3 players the Sabres just cannot figure out what to do on the rush to get the puck into the offensive zone.
