They're talented enough to be a playoff team. They look like they're just going through the motions half the time though. It would be nice if they had a leader who'd put that **** to a stop.

Last night you look up and down the roster and the most complete "on" player was Peterka. Who is a fine young player, but can't hold a candle to Malkin, Crosby, Letang or Karlsson. It seemed that Thompson and Mittelstadt struggled without Tuch in the lineup.
Look at the list of forwards the Sabres used last night. There is no way they were winning that game.

See above. Agree with you. Kevyn Adams is so dug-in with his "build from within," partly because it's cheap. If they only went out and got a marquee player, a real one. Thompson and Tuch are certainly good players, but they need a marquee veteran goal scorer. See: Kaprizov, Marchessault, Boeser or Garland, Stamkos, Nylander. Dare I add Reinhart. Just the addition of one guy like that would change the direction of the team. One guy from the outside. Adams too stubborn. Trade a goalie to Edmonton, use the asset to get more scoring from somewhere.
Okposo is not a good leader at this point. A leader has to produce more on the ice, can't just be playing 4th line wing on the penalty kill.
I had this dream.... 3 way trade: Comrie to Edmonton for a 2nd round pick which goes to Tampa Bay for Stamkos.
Ryan O'Reilly has scored more goals than any of the Sabres. So Thompson, Tuch start at square one.

There's major buzz that the Sabres might be signing Patrick Kane. Considering his injury issues and his not being the player he once was, I'm still VERY skittish about signing him. The fact remains, however, that Buffalo is one of the few teams in the NHL that has the cap space to swing a deal right now.

Why is Thompson back on the wing? Wasn't all his success the last two years at center?
I’m sure this is going to comfort all of you but I just won the Stanley Cup in NHL ‘22 on PS5. Skinner, Tuch and Thompson had insane stat lines in the finals but Cozens got the Smythe. We’re good.
