Nice win but I think I'm more irritated than happy. That they are capable of a game like that against that team just shows they don't show up to play most nights IMO.

Great game but I can’t get my hopes up. They’ve had a bunch of games like this, only to follow it up with two losses.

Nice win but I think I'm more irritated than happy. That they are capable of a game like that against that team just shows they don't show up to play most nights IMO.

This is a great point. But I guess we have to see how this shakes out. I'd just expect the worst and just watch and see

I will agree with that.

Sidebar: I'm planning on heading down the 90 to see the Amerks take on Charlotte tonight. At least Rochester IS playing consistently good hockey. On Sunday, I headed down to Cleveland to see the Monsters take on Utica in some afternoon hockey. (And it drew a good crowd, too; about 7,000 for a Sunday afternoon game.) Here's something that will REALLY make you shake your head: Cleveland scored at will in the first, building up a 5-1 lead over the Comets. Then Utica's starting goalie got pulled and that stabilized the Comets....6-4 after 2....and then Utica popped in 3 in the 3rd to get the 7-6 win. BTW, Cleveland leads the AHL North with a 14-5-1 record and Rochester is 3rd with a 11-6-2 record.

Nope. I agree with him. Peterka head & shoulders. Mittlestadt is a nice 2nd or 3rd line center, but isn't scoring enough. His MO continues to be that he passes to his wings too much. That's generally great, but he does it when he has open shots at the net over and over. It's a bit maddening about him. Ryan Johnson has played well. Hopefully this season's long-term solid addition, but he's very, very young so gets a pass on any heavy lifting.

Goalies have run hot and cold, each of the 3. UPK looked horrid too many times to say he's yet arrived.

I stand pat on what I said before. The Sabres have to put Skinner - Thompson - Tuch back as #1 and then Quinn - Cozens - Peterka as #2 line. If/when they do that, I think, everything will fall back into place for them. It's coming.
