I'd HATE having to lose Savoie, but if the haul coming back includes the type of player you mentioned, I'd be fine with that. We can be damned lucky that we got Zach Benson last year. I wouldn't trade him under ANY circumstances.

BTW, Monday's game with San Jose is still on; it's now been moved up to 12 noon on account of the Bills/Steelers game now being at 4:30pm.

I worry about Savoies injuries and his ability to translate his game to the national League. I saw a thing about Star probabilities in the 22 draft, and he wasn't even on the list of top 30 forwards at this point.

Guess I’m the only one watching. Can’t say I blame anyone at this point. Honestly I just have it on my iPad while I watch the NFL playoffs.

Neither team looked all that great.

Both teams had chances and got stonewalled by hit goaltenders. They got one in on a play where UPL got elbowed in the head, but the refs already took one Vancouver goal off the board on an offsides challenge, so they weren’t going to do it again.

The last 5 min of the 2nd period sucked. The Canucks had the Sabres hemmed in for most of it but didn’t score.

The rest of the game was even IMO. Of course, that’s telling in a way. They have a great record and had to travel all the way across the continent. We’re at home and in need of a HUGE run just to have an outside **** at the 8 seed.

It’s worth noting that Samuelson went out, and at one point Dahlin took a cheap shot and had to go out and Power drew a penalty for going after the offender, so they were down to 3 defenders for a 4 on 4, and 4 defenders for an extended period. Dahlin returned for the 3rd, I don’t believe Samuelson ever did.

I only check in on games now. No reason to.

Tech is your friend. I rarely watch a game from beginning to end but I often have ir on my iPad while I watch football or something else. In the rare case where it’s exciting or looks like the Sabres may win, I put it on the TV.

Last year there was excitement. There was fireworks on offense. There was youth and promise. Now being a Sabres fan is like being a Dolphins’ fan with less glitter and no HBO show.

Last year you could see them building towards something. That something was supposed to be this year, but it isn’t.

I genuinely had to ask the question last night: is there a young, core identified player the sabres should move? Is any one player "the problem?"A shake up by trading someone like Cozens or Mittlestadt might make players go "oh"And firing Granato

Maybe Mitts? He’s inconsistent.

But I don’t know if it will matter. All of the scorers had opportunities yesterday. They just couldn’t finish. I kinda feel like that’s how it’s been all season. On paper they should be decent but on the ice, they just aren’t good enough.
