They were trading down if they couldn't get Kincaid

That's pretty much what Beane just said in his press conference. "If you'd of asked me 5 picks before us I'd of said we're trading down." Thought Kincaid would be picked. I'd love to know what the trade down would have been!

Same brother! BB said he was receiving trade down calls during the late teens/early 20s. He strictly preferred Kincaid to a trade down, to the extent he was willing to chip in a late 4th.

I probably would've taken the trade down, but he gets paid to make these decisions and wanted the impact player they had intuition on.

Points to Beane for switching up the justification this year. I don’t know if I could take another “he was the last guy on our board with a first round grade” line.

This is the point where "Beane's palms are getting sweaty and shaky, he's going to move up" is no longer funny.

Meh, we have had bottom of the draft guys not even make the team. Several in the last few years in fact. I would rather trade for a matchup problem over maybe a potential contributor in the bottom of the 4th round. I don't like trading the 4th but I can see the reasoning as we don't keep all the draft picks on the roster anymore.

Weeks ago I mentioned no ants in the pants this time please.

Having said that if they valued him that highly I guess I get it.

There was interest for our 59th and 91st draft positions but Beane just said we would have had to drop down too far.

Kincaid dropped into their laps. He was expected to go in the top 15.

Getting him at #25 was one of the biggest steals of the first round.

I am glad they got a player. They seem to overthink the 'build your roster through the draft' on a regular basis and end up squandering our draft capital.

                          I’m not.

The addition of Kincaid is exactly what this team needed from the first round. A bonafide offensive weapon that provides what was missing last season and will almost undoubtably make the team better.

With Torrence falling to the Bills at #59, this is the best frist two picks since 2018 for the Bills.

They addressed THE two biggest needs for this season and going forward.

He said that as well. And they were apparently trying to trade up for Addison but no one wanted to budge since they all wanted WRs. So he got the best receiver instead.

I wanted Addison. So badly that I could taste it. My heart sunk when his name was called, despite the fact that it was almost inevitable when the run on the only four WR’s worth a first round pick commenced.

But, I had tunnel vision and kept my eye only on WR’s. Never gave any TE or Kincaid a thought.

That was a BIG mistake. And not the kind of mistake that the Bills were going to make.

As I posted elsewhere...but worth repeating....
